I just went to Alaska and it was awesome (end of june beginning of July) for a trip. It was an amazing place. I went through wasilla, anchorage, seward, denali, and on a float trip on the gulkana river.
As for the snow in my picture, it wasn't 10 feet of snow around my ramp, but that storm dropped about 3 feet of snow. I live in a wind tunnel so I had 10-15 foot drifts of snow in my backyard. That's probably a normal amount of snowfall in AK
