That's called a cone nut. If the guard is threaded, it'd be replacing that nut. The Federal guard isn't, so your cone nut can stay.

get a small screw driver and hammer(or any metal thing that fits) and lightly tap it. Do it between two solid objects to give the pin space.(the cracks on a sidewalk work)

I wasn't doubting your fix, I just don't recommend modifying a new frame for warranty reasons.

Some kids just realize sooner than others. It's all a matter of moving yourself. Good for them for picking up a bike early in age.. they've got years of fun ahead.

Added reply in a thread Riding after not riding? 7/18/2014 11:43 AM
I'm the opposite, I ride better after a break.. especially long ones. It's more of a mental thing for me though. Physically, all I need is a good stretch and I'm back at it. Like Soul says though, one good hardy sesh and you'll get everything clicking ... more »

older just means proven. I'd much rather prefer a pair of ribcages over Areospace rims. The best thing the Areos got going for them seems to be weight-strength ratio.
Added reply in a thread Odyssey Hazard Lites or Aerospaces? 7/3/2014 11:49 PM
Pretty much just the structure. I lean more toward the Lites because there's just more there. It looks a lot more hefty compared to the Areo. Although that's kind of ignorant. Looks can be deceiving. I have no experience with the Areos so I really can't ... more »
Added reply in a thread Odyssey Hazard Lites or Aerospaces? 7/3/2014 11:32 PM
I'd get two Hazards.. but I'm pretty rough on wheels. Maybe Aero front and Hazard rear? If you're a smooth styled person or just super light then get two aerospace rims... really up to you. I've currently got a Hazard up front.. it does it's job well, ... more »
Added reply in a thread Why doesn't the majority of bmx like park? 7/3/2014 11:01 PM
I wouldn't use words like "majority" so loosely. Most riders I know personally don't care. There's just no possible way of telling, so better to not assume. But I don't think it's hate toward scooters.. more like resentment.. And I think that's partly ... more »
