Straight after the 2009 World's in Germany Alessandro Barbero was on his way to France for another stop of the FISE Experience tour. The end prize in BMX is a brand new Fiat car and Alessandro has his mind set on that vehicle. He is well on his way by raking up another win in Avoriaz.

The 2009 IBMXFF World's suffered from many rain showers last weekend. It caused the Pro Park event to be cancelled.
Alessandro Barbero had decided to ride the Miniramp contest as well and faired pretty well in the big field and finished on a respectful 7th place.

Because I Grind (with Nigel Sylvester)
Meet Nigel Sylvester at these Mirraco dealerships
Nigel is doing a tour for Gatorade and they are stopping at 2 Mirraco dealers this weekend. We asked him some questions about this tour:
Hey Nigel, next to doing a shop, riding comps, doing photo shoots and more, you are now doing a Bike Shop Tour. How did this one come about?
Well I really wanted to do a tour where I can touch and connect with people who are into bmx on a more personal level. I approached Gatorade with the idea, they seemed siked and decided to back this project. The name of the tour is "Because I Grind" and it stands for two things, obviously I grind on my bike but also the grind and work I put into every aspect of my life.
Are you going to present at all these stops yourself to ride?
No, I did the ATL and Miami stops with Mark Gralla aka ratkid and Dave Belcher. As I move towards the west for the Vegas and Cali stops I'm going to link up with E-man and Boy.
It looks like you're going coast to coast with this one?
Yeah I really want this tour to reach as far as possible. I feel the more people I can reach the better.
What's the plan, can people join in on the Demo Session? Are you going to hit the streets?
At each stop of course people can join the demo I really want to experience each scene and connect with the people. Of course I'll be hitting some street in each city.
Why should people come and check it out?
Because I Grind.

FREEDOM BMX magazine
Not only did Mirraco distributors Christian Kohler and Jann Rosskamp get some coverage in the latest issue of FREEDOM BMX, Andy Buckworth and Ryan Guettler scored some press too in the same issue. Andy must be stoked on his backcover Mirraco ad too. Thanks to Freedom for the press and La Finca for the promotion. Now that Harry Main has broken his leg, the riding will have to come from Maxime Charveron, Alessandro Barbero and Ryan Guettler this weekend at the IBMXFF World's in Cologne. Stay tuned for updates on that event.

Broken leg for Harry Main
Not the news we like to post here but Harry Main has broken his leg while filming for Nike 6.0 over in Germany. This means he'll be definitely out for the IBMXFF World Championships in Cologne this weekend and most likely a Dew Tour stop and the X-Games as well.
Get well soon Harry.

IMG appointed exclusive UK distribution for Mirraco brand
Mirraco has been distributed in the UK by Trek UK for the last 2 ½ years with great success, building the brand from nothing in 2007 to over 120 quality dealers by early 2009, with investment in the brand not only through some innovative marketing but by building a great relationship with both BMX specialists and non-specialists alike. As the brand has grown, it has become more important that Mirraco becomes a focus for a business for whom BMX is its sole interest, and Trek UK is pleased to announce that IMG Distribution have been appointed as the exclusive importer and distributor of the Mirraco BMX brand. This agreement will allow both companies to focus on their core business and for IMG to take Mirraco to the next level.
To ensure as little disruption to the continued success of the brand as possible, Mirraco Brand Manager, Paul Lonsdale, is to move with the brand to IMG. Paul has been instrumental in building Mirraco sales to their current level and will be at the forefront of further growth.
IMG, based in Pagham, England, is a specialist BMX distributor currently distributing some of the most respected companies in the sport (Odyssey, Fly Bikes, Proper Bike Co etc). Mirraco will be the first complete bike brand IMG have offered and their expertise in the specialist market will facilitate future development of the brand.
Mirraco is a ‘’rider owned company” like many others that started because the founders loved the sport and wanted to do something on their own, rather than just riding for some big company. Unlike other rider owned companies, Mirraco was founded by the sport’s most famous athlete, Dave Mirra. Having won more X-Games Gold medals than any other competitor, Dave has credentials that no other rider or bike company founder has ever combined in starting a company.
IMG can be contacted at:
IMG Distribution Limited,
1 Beach Road, Pagham,
West Sussex. PO21 4SX.
Tel. 01243 268075.

Buckworth and Main qualify for Park at Dew Tour 09.
Only 13 from the 58 riders, that were not pre-qualified, were going to transfer to the main program of the 2009 Dew Tour in Park. No need to say that was a tough task but both Harry Main (UK) and Andrew Buckworth (AUS) pulled it off.
They'll be joining team mates Dave Mirra, Ryan Guettler and Alessandro Barbero on Friday at 12:15PM for BMX PARK Prelims.
Mike Laird (17th) and Maxime Charveron (22nd) missed the cut.
