An update from Ryan Guettler. Vive La France!
What’s up guys, I'm on my flight home from the F.I.S.E comp and Mirraco photo shoot in France. Had such a fun time. The comp was sweet as, it’s pretty much the start of the comp season and everyone was on their game. Over 85 pro riders in street and to cut that back to an 18 men final... so insane. It took all day with only one run of 45 seconds and then a last trick. Mark Webb killed it and got top spot and kept it up the next day to win the comp also. I ended up in 4th which I'm really happy about considering I crashed in my 2nd run on a 720 whip and popped both shoulders out of sockets. I was bummed but because of the hype of the crowd and just the vibe of the comp I ended up riding my 3rd run and last trick which was a superman flip. The crowd all week were crazy I heard that over the 3 days there were around 450 000 spectators.
Dirt was big jumps and had a super small last set which I wasn’t really feeling. The whole night it felt like I was battling TJ Ellis and I was right. He won and I got 2nd. He had a super good last run so I thought I might be able to 1080 the last set which would have been the smallest jump I've ever done one on but I got around 1030 and slammed really hard on my face eating rocks but I'm glad I didn’t take out any teeth.
After the comp the Mirraco boys took the 4-hour train to Paris to ride street and shoot photos for the 2010 catalog. We were there 4 days and saw a lot of history which I loved, I really want to go back to shoot photos and ride more street. We got taken to some of the best spots ever.

Harry Main on a diet?
Most riders eat and drink what they feel like. Spending a lot of time on the road with friends this can result in many visits to the hamburger joint during the day and visits to the bar at night. This was Harry Main's lifestyle for a while too but it has changed.
Read more about it in an interview on the RIDE UK website

Mirraco riders in Paris
Mirraco riders Maxime Charveron, Andy Buckworth, Dave Rytell and Ryan Guettler have been hitting up riding spots around Paris today. From a covered skatepark to banks, cobble stone hips, and more street stuff that seems to be around every corner in the big city. The pics will pop up in some ads, the web and the 2010 catalog and look out for a web video too.

Buckworth pulls his 1st frontie over the spine
After qualifying in 4th place Andy Buckworth was amped to ride the miniramp finals. The crowd was going insane for the 18 years old Australian. His backflip handplant over the spine and his first frontie over a spine were crowd pleasers. They also scored enough points for the fourth place check. Ryan Guettler sat out the mini comp after crashing out in Dirt the previous night. He saved himself for park later that day.

Guettler 2nd, Maxime 4th, Buckworth 8th in Pro Dirt
It was a straight final in Pro Dirt at the 2009 FISE event in Montpellier, France. Maxime Charveron, Ryan Guettler and Andy Buckworth entered to comp. 3 runs each with the best two runs counting towards the final results. Maxime Charveron and Ryan Guettler both did variations on the drop-in off the starting platform and decided to continue going wild on the huge jumps. Andy was going for the drop in of the night but his flip down the kicker did not work out. He ended up in 8th place and just entered for the heck of it. The thousands of people got wild for Frenchie Maxime and Ryan. Guetler 360-d in and showed 720-s, fronties and double whips and went for a 1080 on the last set in his last run. Maxime tailwhipped in the first landing and continued to blast through the 5 sets for 4th place overall. It was a good show.

Catching up with Andrew Buckworth
The internet is an amazing thing. The interview was done in the morning, the photos were taken in the afternoon and the complete package is up at night. Can you say FRESH!? Now if you haven't figured out that trick up here, it's a handplant flip over the spine. Andy Buckworth ain't no joke.
Hi Andy, where are you at right now?
Buckworth: Napolitan's house at State College in the USA.
Who all stays in that house?
Buckworth: Me, Anthony and his girl Kelly, aww and the dog
So they invited an Aussie to live with them? How come?
Buckworth: Ummmm because they are amazing people. I'm meant to be living at Woodward right now but it's still a lil bit cold there.
They got no heaters at Woodward?
Anrew: Yeah they do but at the moment most people don't ride till about 5pm so that just leaves me with nothing to do till then so it's better staying with Anthony for now.
Where do you ride now. Anything good in State College or do you have to go to Woodward to really get some good riding in?
Andrew Buckworth: Well every day we drive into Woodward Camp to ride with the rest of the boys.
Do you feel like you're there to "train" or do you just want to ride and people happen to be around to ride with?
Andy: Well, I never really TRAIN. I'm always just happy to be on my bike but if the session is getting going I love to throw down with the rest of the guys, and it's always fun to learn new things.
Is qualifying for the Dew Tour a big goal for you this year?
Buckworth: Yeah for sure!....... that is something I really want to do just, because I love riding contests and well, really that's the biggest contest of the year so it looks like fun lol.
Have Daniel Dhers or Anthony Napolitan given you some tips yet?
Andy: Yeah every day
But first you're going to France. How excited are you for that trip?
Andrew Buckworth: Wow it's like a dream come true. I couldn't believe it when Sean told me. I was stoked. Apart from the nervs of traveling I haven't traveled all that much so I still get nervous but it will be an amazing experience.
So good times ahead. I understand you've got a photoshoot coming up this afternoon. Don't push it too hard, okay?
Andrew Buckworth: Hahahah yeah I already know what I'm going to do for the photos so it should be all ok

FISE here we come!
Shortly we will make it to France for the 2009 version of the FISE event. And it is going to be a big Mirraco posse.
Dave Mirra will be present. Just because he likes it over there. But also Ryan Guettler is going and this year he is going to show up early enough to actually ride. Who else? Dave Rytell. He will be living on baguette, cheese and wine for a little while and has no problem with that. It's a home game for Maxime Charveron in Montpellier and Harry Main will be flying in from the UK. Alessandro Barbero has been winning comps left and right this year and wants to do good at FISE and last but not least Australian Andrew Buckworth is about to witness what Europe is all about.

Barbero Canon photoshoot
A little while ago Alessandro Barbero did a Canon photoshoot. It is now online and you can see the clip and a few shots by going to this Canon website.
Over the weekend Alessandro went to the second round of the FISE Experience contest series. Last time he already won 2 wheels of the FIAT car, that is up for grabs at the end of the series, by winning round one. Ale now also won round two in Le Havre, France. It was more of a bowl contest but the victory gets him a little closer to the complete car at the end of the year. Make that 4 wheels for Barbero so far. Next FISE Experience contest coming up will be the one in Montpellier. Loads of riders will be there. If Barbero pulls off win number three there we'll have to see.
