About Me
In 1974 a drag-racing fanatic from Southern California sat down with a legend of that sport to design products that could withstand the abuse kids were dishing out on wooden jumps and local trails. The sport of BMX was still in diapers when Skip Hess started BMX Products. His first product was the Mongoose BMX frame. A one-piece cast alloy wheel called the Moto Mag soon followed, and the legend of Mongoose was born. By 1976, Mongoose was selling more BMX bikes than every other bike company in the world. Mongoose riders like Tinker Juarez, Jeff Kosmala and John George were the coolest guys in BMX. When these riders retired, pro champions like Eric Rupe joined Team Mongoose to carry on our tradition of winning. Mongooses presence in freestyle is just as famous. Dennis McCoy was the sports quadruple threat in the 80s: The Real McCoy rode street, vert, parks and flatland. When DMC joined Mongoose in 1989, his Mongoose Hooligan revolutionized frame design and technology for its day. DMCs Hooligan was the first freestyle frame to feature a 25.4mm seatpost, a removable bashguard, 1-1/8-inch AheadSet and tapered and butted tubing. The medal winning history at the X Games that Dennis McCoy established for Mongoose in the early 90s is carried on today by Mongoose riders like Simon Tabron and Steve McCann. Mongooses presence in dirt jumping is equally impressive. Fuzzy Hall is one of the sports OG players, and originally signed with us in 1989. Today, Cam White advances the sport of dirt jumping on a Mongoose trail machine.

Woodward,PA, April 02, 2007 -- What's up everyone?! This week was massive. All sorts of stuff going on. First off, I just got done filming for the Patent Musuem in Washington.Should be really cool when it's all finished, and if you ever get the chance, you should check it out. It should be ready in a month or so.
Secondly, I'm off to China at the end of the month. Pretty stoked about it because I've never been there, but I'm really not looking forward to the flight.
Finally, so many people were at Camp Woodward this weekend, including a lot of little kids for the weekend getaway. Weekend getaways are awesome for the kids because they can come with their parents. Or if you are over 18 you can come up to camp on your own. Anyway it's always a good time.
Until next time, I'm out.
Steve
