In the spirit of all good things "raw," I'm sharing my 250S raw job from Sunday of this week. Aircraft remover, 2 different grits of sandpaper (stepping down), 3 gauges of steel wool to polish (stepping down) and 4 steady thin coats of clear ... more »
I'm considering taking this one to the shop and media-blasting it. Feeling like raw is definitely how this frame will be happiest.
O.K.,... Picked up a complete built on a 250S frame. It's got Eastern forks, cranks, sprocket and bars and all else is Odyssey, Animal and Sun. Two projects to work on now.
I rattled about in my alley on Saturday afternoon when I brought the thing home. It was a blast. The weight isn't that bad (frame is 8#-ish). The flights are heavy and clunky, the sprocket is just plain garbage and the brake cable was blown out, so I ... more »

Found a few used bikes built on Standard frames (STA & 250L). May try to check them out this weekend.
Thank you, thank you. Yeah, I mentioned Standard above. I haven't been in to Goodtimes (Standard's retail shop here - their production facility is downtown) yet to chat with any of the guys there about bikes and probably should. Some guys here in town ... more »
Thanks! S&M seems super, but prohibitively expensive for me at the moment. I'm a married father. 'Nuff said. Thinking about this too much, perhaps, but... What seems to me to be my best choice at the present time (and I hate going this route - I ... more »
I'm a former rider (race & trick) who dropped out of the BMX game in / around '87 and want to get back in for fun and health. I'm so far out of the loop and not even sure of what my body will be able to handle anymore, but know I want to start tricking ... more »
