I didnt see Ricks bike, and yeah I know all about the custom orders...my STA was a custom order, if you look at my bike I still have the original custom brown paint I orderd for it (also original stickers), what also make my bike custom is when I ordered it they didnt have a raw frame so they painted over a chrome frame instead so I wouldnt have to wait long to get it (something they dont normally do and I didnt order it that way). My frame is a 1997 model I purchased in 1999.

Yeah I just saw a bike an the main SBC site I guess some guy has...it looks like a 250 with the gusset and its chrome...I think some guy in the UK has it...mabie its a 250 from 6-8 years ago or something. The new frame sounds cool...I would want STA drop-outs on both sides though...I dont care about weight or any of that other crap...just make a strong ass bike.

Yeah I rode slams for years...good bar, dont really care about the new ones, they look to much like race bars to me (I like low crossbar). Geeze...still waiting on standard to come out with strip-bars...they sure are slow over there coming out with stuff...I'm still waiting to see the new STA (waiting two years now I think...have you seen any prototypes out there in SBC country?

I have two strip bars...both 4pc and 6pc...gottem off ebay...woot. I want the new strip bars (dont ask me why - I want them hoping there 7/8 tubes...the old bars suck, there 1 inch and you need a 1 inch brake lever for them (very hard to get - but I go those to).

Thanks for the compliment. I guess I'm what you might call smart, but I try not to think of myself as such, I try to be humble about stuff like that. Because if I'm not humble about it then I feel I have to try and live up to that image and please people and thats a trap that I do not want to be insnared or in bondage too. And that goes hand in hand about what it means to be truely wise.
Peace out my friend!
WORD...Jeff

Thanks for the compliment on my page, I must have missed it. Yeah, I worked a couple hours on it, unfortunatly I didn't do a good job on cross-browser compatabilty...such a hassle. But anyway thanks, least I got a free shirt out of the deal.

Yeah, some of the parts I have even though they are old skool they are (nos - new old stock). Take my bars and forks, both are Standard, the bars are 4pc stripbars I scored them on ebay new uncut. The forks I got from SBC direct, they are like 1997 (same year as my frame) models they happen to have laying around...BRAND SPANKIN NEW. They are chrome and shiny as fuck. Newskool shit I'm getting are Brooklyn Machineworks Shinburger Veggie pedals, G-sport hubs. Newskool I already have is Standard frontload stem, Odyssey Hazzard lites...check the forum for a complete listing. When done I will have the best and or one of the best STA's on the west coast. The devil didnt just go down to Georgia, that fucker paid me a visit too!

Yup, I got lucky and got a 2005 Yakuza they were blowing out and blowoutbikes.com and picked it up for the bargin basement price of 350.00 + 50.00 S&H. Thats a screamin deal, normally this bike retails between 7 - 8 bills depending where you bought it and if you pay sales tax. They have at bicycleblowout another one like mine but the next model up, so it cost 150.00 more then mine but it had better parts too, if your gonna get one like mine I'd hurry if I were you, they already sold out of the small sizes in my model frame, they only have 19" frames left. In other news I'm way stoked about but it looks like I'm going to wiin the bid on ebay for some old skool cranks I want, I offerd the guy 120.00 and he agreed (there was NO "buy now"). opening bid was 89.99. OMG, as I was writing this I went to ebay to get the pics url and he took them off auction...woot, I won, I won! These cranks are badass, your looking at a set of (no longer made) Solid Cranks with a 1" spindle, these things are massive and unbreakable, they are perfect for my 1997 Standard STA. By the way, I'm building my STA with the best parts old and new skool and then I'm going to retire it, I love it to much to ride it anymore (dunno if you understand that but...) and I'm going to thrash around on a 2005 FBM Night Train (that I'm in the middle of aquiring as we speak)
Ut, the thumbnail didnnt show, heres a direct URL.

The FBM pictured is a random one, but its the same year and color I'm getting.

By the way, the geometry for your new freeride bike might feel weird at first, but stick with it, you will get used to it and once you do you will most likely love it...I'm finding my freeride bike gets easyer or I get more used to it everytime I ride it, I'm finding it more enjoyable to ride then my 20". And thats saying alot, my 20" rolls like a pimp...it rides killer.

Yup, to give you a little more detail about the birth of mt biking history (at least on the west coast) it was started in like 78-79 up around Marin County among a few guys looking for cheap thrills, among those guys were Gary Fisher, Joe Breeze, Tom Ritchy, as well as quite a few others...Joe and Ritchy started making frames and there you have it, mt bikes were born.

I gave up BMX for like 7 years...bad idea, its so much harder to ride, I'm out of shape, I smoke and have ashema among other physical limitations.
I still stunt a little - parks and dirt jumps I'm best at, mostly cruise and look cool for the bitches though lol

I read your bike check thing...thats such a tough choice, hmmm, Standard or Sunday. I know if I was ever to replace my STA with anything besideds another Standard it would be with a Sunday or T1, love the rear triangel on T1's, but those front triangels on Sundays New Wave is fuckin bad, love the downtube and gusset...that shit is fuckin art man. And what can I say about Standard...nothing, Its a Standard and there just strait up fuckin bad, I own one!
