- Bike Checks
Just thought I would post the latest pic of the Stolen Saint before I put in into storage. Have bought a P.Street 2 to rock around on instead for a while, having gears and front suspension is going to leave me spoiled!
I'm in Australia and picked up a new Saint for under $300. Great bike, I've upgraded a heap on it but I commute on it every day and it takes a beating. Can't speak highly enough of it, I haven't ridden my 20" once since I got the Saint.
Damn - you're a quick one! Only took you about 7 months to realise.
My bad about the link. I use the black ones only, one set are on 24" gold rims (front and rear), another set on 20" black rims at the moment. They are insanely good - even the front locks instantly with a decent pull. I've used really good clear pads ... more »
"22intawptoob wrote: My only beef with the Holmes so far is the black rims. I prefer my brakes to stop on a dime, and I feel that a chrome rim option is a must!" Get these; http://www.danscomp.com/products-PARTS-BRAKEACCESS/488014/Kool-Stop_BMX_Brake_Pads.html ... more »
I sit down way more than I stand up on my 24" since I use it for a daily commuter, so of course I want a comfy seat. ...and looking at the height you have your post raised in your photos (far from slammed) I would hazard a guess that you like to sit ... more »
Agree totally, not only are those little plastic seats uncomfortable, they look stupid as shit. My Saint came with one and it went straight in the rubbish.
Awwww, being mean about my white chain haha. I was going to go with a black chain, but since they didn't make the MDS sprocket in white I had to go with the chain being white instead.
Thanks! 990 mounting plate plus the Diatech Hombre brake kit. All from Danscomp for about $28 combined (cable, lever and pads extra). Tried about 5 different sets of brake pads before I finally found the Kool Stops, nothing else came close to locking ... more »
Ok heres my Saint again after changing everything except the wheels, stem and frame. Still debating on whether to go matte black or matte white with the gold bits (or leave them gold). It's set up for commuting and endos - that's about it. The 990 brake
The Saints looking good! I'll try and do another pic of mine soon, have changed out nearly everything except the rims, frame and stem now.
Indeed, my bad.
Well that deserves an award for world's most useless post!
Completely untrue. I have a 24" Stolen Saint and commute 10km + a day on it and further in the weekends - perfectly comfortable. The best additions communiting wise was a 330mm seat post and Kink Sexton fat seat that I jack right up. I also went with ... more »
Agree, but you totally need to shorten that brake cable...its sticking out the front like crazy!
Correct, 14mm's for the front, and 3/8" for the rear. Can confirm that sizing fits my Saint.
OK looking at the Stolen Cell Bars in white - can get 8" / 8.25" or 8.65" from Danscomp... Would the 8.65's be too big and look silly? Or do you think they would look OK with my jacked seat?
Sweet, did you have any issues getting the grips off the old bars? What method did you use?
Those bars look huge - only 8's right? Guess I'm ordering some of them today!
Nice bike! If you do end up putting the 8's on let me know how it feels. With my seat jacked that much I could do with some higher bars...was considering even going to a 9'... I was seriously contemplating the silver since I already have 2x 20" BMX's ... more »
