here we go again..
Not much after being on the injured and sore list, i've been riding real good lately, and looking forward to the contest series coming up.. i missed Dew Stop 1, and have been riding everyday to make sure at Dew Stop 2, id be fully ready to do my thing.. well nix that again.
Yesterday morning i was up early and wanted to film a clip for an online promo vid.. everything is going fine, I feel great, I’ve been real active lately, heck i just turned 23! but for some reason .. sommmeeee reasooonnn.. gr. i was looking for my video camera that actually got stolen when our house was broken into last week, im looking for it everywhere, and decide to maybe check behind my TV.. still no luck. as im getting up from being on my hands and knees, i am feeling this sharp pain in my left knee as im slowly standing up saying to myself 'what’s this.. no... no.. noooooooo" and before i could fully stand up right.. i knew it. my freaking left knee popped out of the socket. great.
now last time this happened, only being once before as is, i walked 2 steps without knowing what happened, and it popped back into place. Hurt like hell, but it at least went back. this was right before the mega tour started, 2 days prior to be exact. Well not this time.
this time my knee cant pop back into place, i cant figure out exactly what it is, but Kris K showed me this website "http://www.kneeguru.co.uk/html/steps/step_04_meniscus/tear_types.html"
and it looks like i have a serious one. I’m about to go to my chiropractor to see what he can do for me, if not, then straight to the ER. for what it matters, wish me luck. i don’t have enough money for surgery, nor do i want it to need it at all.
i wanted to go to dew tour damnit. And the props rock n road tour.
son of a ..
ahhhhhhhwell. Ill be posting pictures of my new bike later today, it is the whip.

few more days till megatour
Ahhhhhhhhhh. Well things have been good lately. I thought my neck / spine was messed up from Metro jam, but things dont seem to be that bad, the pain is slowly going away. Its been about 2 weeks now and Ive ridden maybe 3 times. So hopefully before the megatour starts ill be in the least amount of pain as possible. Even just yesterday i was diddle dallying in the street and accidently popped my left knee out of the socket for the first time ever. It sucks bad. I got it wrapped up and trying to hold it together.
Been bored here in Michigan, really looking foward to a year of traveling. My girlfriend made it to Ratty [ happening as I type this ] and im bummed im not there. If any one see's this and see's her, give her my love!
Got some changes going in my life, so that atleast makes me happy. Change's for the best, always.
There will be a video soon, i swear.
hollar everyone, ride safely.

broken toe
2 nights ago the albes team was at Rays in Ohio (great park) and after changing up a bunch of my parts on my bike, things were feeling a little bit funny. I was pretty drained even before we got there, so my session didn't last too long anyways. It came down to playing in the foam pit with Hollywood/Mike. I ended up landing on my bike and needing help out of the foam, for some reason my right foot got the worst while my entire left leg landed on the crank arm wheel and back end, again not quite sure what happend there. ftw.
Topping that off, since about 3 weeks ago I knew my big toe hurt sometimes when i landed with it on my right crank arm for some reason, just a weird angle. Now after landing on my bike and I looked to see why my right foot hurt so bad and my big toe and the bone leading toe it are swollen bad, and purple. I cant even walk on it. Im really bummed and dont know what to do. Hopefully the splint i have on it will do its job, and everything else will kind of just go away.
bummmed.

large format
Hollar.
Thanks again everyone that has rated my video and either way supported me on the bmxboard or anywhere else. I really want to make this trip!
For the sake of it, I rendered it in a larger video format, so it looks a little better and if the video doesnt work post a comment with your os style and ill try to hook it up.IF you can right click and save this link, it will save me bandwith on the site its hosted by.

About my haro video...
About my haro entry video...
I just found out about this contest about 2 weeks ago, its actually the reason I became interested in the vitalbmx.com site, I didnt know this thing was so populated!
All together I filmed 4 or 5 just for the video, it was the better quality film in the video I submitted. A lot of the footage was stuff that ive had for a period of time now, with no real use of it.
I edited the entire video in 1 day, around 6-7 hours maybe.I love traveling, and I want to do it more, I felt the contest was a good chance to at least open a door to maybe more people, and try to give myself a more realistic chance to make something of myself besides 60 seconds in a contest run. I feel this year i'll make a few big changes for myself, and help push things in a little bit better direction for everyone. I'd truly like to support and help the progression of the entire sport.
The video is actually short because I didn't want to put useless filler or the same tricks you see in everyone else's videos, that stuff gets boring. There was a lot of riding I didn't get to put in the video simply because I didn't have enough time to film either, remember I became involved in the contest a little late.
There is still a bit of video I didn't want to put online yet, and the video part itself is only half-way complete. Hopefully in the rest of this week Kris K and I will finish filming and ill post the other half of the video online regardless.
A lot of my family and my friends have supported me for a long time, without the confidence of my friends I probably wouldn't have made it as far as I did, so to my dad and my mom especially, thank you for everything you've ever done. My girlfriend Cassandra also, she has been put threw more bad road trips, gas-runs, fireworks, car accidents, well, everything, you get the drift. She is the true fire-power in the 'matt sparks show' and without her I just wouldn't be so me.
There was a real lack of street footage because its just too damn cold in Michigan lately and its not worth freezing over. I love street riding, real good street riding. I also don't ride pegs most of the time at skate parks because I have a tendency to land on them, it hurts bad and they need to make softer pegs.I really hope this video stands a chance for you guys, the homies judging it and everyone else that gets to watch it. I enjoyed making it, so I hope you enjoy watching it.
Extra thanks to Kris Kunihiro, Chris Baylis, Bud Dickman and anyone else who has helped me filmed.
Let me know what you think of the video, and leave a comment.
Again thanks for watching!ps. I typed a huge long b-log entry already, and my internet connection died and I lost it. So sorry if this is a little dull.

son of a miniDV tape...
Well last night it was on again as i wasent sick, and after a bunch of hard slams, and a few good tricks, it was time to capture footy. But what does the tape say? I believe somewhere, I forget where I read it, but on fresh miniDV tapes your best off recording a few minutes of the tape before you start filming real stuff... or however that works.
Last night we lost 7 minutes worth for some reason, the tape was completely jacked and only managed to salvage 1 clip off a brand new tape. LAME to say the least, but funny too.
Ill try again.. this should be good.
holla!

being sick sucks.
Yeah. Sweet. Times ticken down on the haro contest and I get mad sick. Ive been trying to film stuff for the past week now trying to take it easy on a day to day basis and not overdo too much for one session, well one day goes real well and i somehow get SUPER sick! Right now for the past 2 days im trying to flush this crazy nastyness out of my system. If I can manage to get it out, i should be able to post a decent video for ya'll, haro contest or not, ive been trying to film for the sweet homies here at VitalBMX.com
You guys dress warm and drive safe. Winters suck.

current-tv video

I did a little interview a while back with Joe Gall and Evan from TeamYoung, it ended up being something that current-tv was into and air'ed recently on their program on TV. It makes me come off a little bit weird but TV loves that stuff!
check it out for yourself here
