When I had issues with my Blind Hub Shane Weston and Dave Paterson from éclat got back to me within a day and solved my issue within a couple weeks, considering they sent me a replacement hub and got me to send them back the old one without having to ... more »

I sell it to you for cheap and this is what you try to do with it?

Personally mine is working amazing after they sent me new springs.

Seems solid enough! I'd recommend to anyone buying this hub to get at least the non drive side hub guard or you will really have to stretch your frame to fit universal style guards.

That is probably a smart thing to do and wait and see how it goes with these new springs and I probably should have waited to see how everything went before I bought it but now that I have the new springs I have no regrets. There was no way for eclat ... more »

Shane Weston just has a lot of experience with it and knows how to be able to use pedal pressure with it. I've been riding it and it feels way better slack wise than the other coasters I've ridden.

The blind actually has at least 1/4 crank of slack btw. It doesn't have minimal slack because it has a specific driver for it to be a freecoaster which was designed to have similar to the amount of slack as most coasters on the market and a separate ... more »

Define a real freecoaster? I've been on the khe style for the last 3 years. None of us were bashing the other coasters so don't see why we needed your input on anything.

Added reply in a thread Eclat Blind Spring Fix 1/11/2015 6:00 PM

Best part is that even if the hub engages you just need to give it the slightest back crank and its coasting again

Yeah man! I've ridden all three of federals coasters and never had a problem with any of them other than a driver bearing in the first version but the blind hub definitely feels a lot more solid.

Added reply in a thread Eclat Blind Spring Fix 1/11/2015 5:39 PM

Yeah I was one of the first to receive the blind hub and the springs failed but Shane got back to me and got eclat to get back to me and they got me all set up with new springs. It is now running amazing and really can't see why there would be any point ... more »

I beat the crap out of my aerospaces and they hold up to it all. I have been running them for about two years now with no problems and only the occasional small fixable wobble.

I'm liking it so far. I can definitely tell it doesn't have as much slack as a maxed out KHE style coaster but you do have a decent amount of wiggle room. You are able to back pedal it as much as you want because nothing is engaged when pedaling backwards. ... more »

well it definitely shouldn't be loose enough to take it off by hand

Thanks man! Once i get more hours in on the coaster I might do a review for it but so far its pretty sweet unless you like a lot of slack

Added reply in a thread Dialed Fiend Embryo 12/14/2014 6:37 PM

The sprocket has given me no problems and is solid so it aint leavin anytime soon lol but thanks man

The cone nut shouldn't be tight at all once you loosen the little grub screw that holds the cone nut in place and if you tried to loosen it without loosening the grub screw then you probably screwed up some of your threads on the axle. Also if you are ... more »

I would say a bit more than a quarter but its kind of weird because it depends where the ratchet ring is located at the time of pedalling forward. Sometimes it feels like a little bit more but sometimes a little bit less. The cool thing is if you feel ... more »

What do you mean by play? If you mean that it can somewhat move out of the shell then yes i believe that is normal because there is no cone nut that locks the non driveside into place but once you tighten it up on your bike its nice and solid. Had another ... more »
