About Me
same thing as on my interbmx....
There comes a point in life where people [ meaning myself for this purpose ] come to realize dreams and hopes are really just that. I gave up on the whole "i wanna be pro and sponsored" shit a long, long time ago. And to be completely honest, i've never happier on my bike. i ride because i want to, not because i want to go out and show off, not because i like attention, i ride because it makes me smile. and that's how it should be. bmx has become far too involved with worrying about what scene it's invovled in, and it's getting rather disgusting. i see kids out there wearing no kneepads because there pants are too tight, i see kids that can do whip to tailtaps and 360 whips, but if you asked them to double peg a quarter or do a trick on a straight jump they'd run for the hills. i just don't get it. whatever happened to gradual progression? learn the basics. and stop trying to be so recognized. if you're in it for that, you shouldn't be on a bike. pure and simple.
bikes till death.
...and yeah, i'm that kid in the joe kid on a stingray commercial.

Yup, little man is a week old now. It's amazing seeing what my wife and I made squirming around in our arms. It really makes everything else seem so trivial.
I know what yo mean about people getting more cred for what they ride rather than how they ride it. The industry is revolving around trends and fashion more than bike riding, progression and having a good time. Living out here near Wodward I get to see alot of kids throughout the summer and it's crazy how many of them say the reason they ride is to be a pro making a million dollars. I think it's normal to want to be like your favorite pro, ride like him and learn the tricks he does but the focus in more on the amount of money they make. It's sad realy. It's nice to know there are people out there that ride for the hell of it cause two wheels and pedals makes for a good time. -
