Anthony Napolitan Bike Check + More

On top of being one of the best dirt and Mega Ramp riders in the world, Anthony Napolitan is also known for his custom colored bikes. His current ride is Subaru blue with metallic orange rims - and he's got a car to match it (aside from the Subaru part). We sat down with Anthony to get a rundown of the parts on his current ride and him a few questions. Read below for the good stuff.

Tell us about your current set up. Any big changes?

I'm pretty stoked on my current set up. I don't really ever change much when I build a new bike; I did switch to some 8" rise Mankind bars. Also, instead of Fly cranks, I went with the Mankind two piece cranks. Other than those, the main thing I change when I build a bike is the color! I've got a Subaru blue kit with orange metallic rims. I got the whole idea from a Vans ad of Scotty Cranmer doing a no hander off a loading dock over a blue Subaru with burnt orange wheels.

How important is the color of your bike to you?
It's very important to me. I feel like the color of my bike really expresses my sense of style and who I am. If you get on your bike and absolutely love the color of it, you're going to ride it good! Also, it's going to make you happy every time you see it.

Are your sponsors cool with doing your own thing and steering away from the production colors?
I think so. When I build new bikes I make sure to use the same logo that the companies I ride for use. As you can see in the photos, I have my own custom Hoffman Bikes and Maxxis stickers. If anything, my wild colored bikes bring more attention in photos and videos.Anthony Napolitan Bike Check + MoreYou're one of the big players in the Mega Ramp game. Do you ride the same bike you use for park/trails on the Mega Ramp?
Yeah. I don't see the point in riding a bike I'm not even used to or a bike that I will only use for a week or so.

Brakes... they staying on permanently?
Yeah. I love brakes. If you're a rider that goes slow then it makes sense. I go kind of fast sometimes so I actually need them.Do you ever run pegs? Have you ever? Why don't you now?
I used to run pegs back when I first started riding, but I quit running them because I was over them braking my bike and myself. I do put pegs on for about a week a year to learn some new tricks; just to keep up with the times, I guess. I still don't run them because I don't like breaking my bike or having a peg hit me in the back of the leg. I'd rather do a kickout I guess.

Do you have any signature parts in the works?
No, not yet. Everyone asks me this. I guess I don't really have an excuse as to why I don't have any signature parts. I do have some signature ear buds from Kicker, though! They're really dope!

What's next for you and your bike?

Me and my bike will be traveling a ton this year; I'm pretty excited! X-Games, Dew Tour, China, Brazil, France, Germany, and many more...

Freestyle. What's on your mind?

To be honest, I just got back from Germany and the airlines lost both of my bags. I'm hoping they find them for me or else I'll be out of this bike and the two cool trophies I won at the T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds contest. Bummer!
