Video/Photos/Interviews: Glenn PP Milligan

E-Man and Boy are two incredible street riders from East Los Angeles, and they put this rad video together for Vital BMX. On top of handling filming durites, Glenn PP Milligan also got interviews with each guy to give you some insight. Get into it.

Name: Anthony "Boy" Flores
Age: 20-teen

Where were you born?
East Los Angeles.

Where do you live?
East Los Angeles.

What got you started in BMX?
Well, like I said in my bio on volumebikes.com, I saw my cousin ridin’ around doin’ tricks and stuff. At first I thought the whole riding-a-bike-thing was gay, but I rode around a couple times and the rest is history.

Who has been your biggest influences riding?
My biggest influence is Forrest Gump [laughs]. For one reason, because I love that movie, and the second reason is ‘cause it has nothin’ to do with BMX [laughs]. Nah, I don’t know. I guess myself? I’m real careless so yeah, I really don’t have any influences.

What do you think is different about the East LA scene?
It’s chill, you know? Stress free. If you really think about it, me and E are the East LA scene [laughs]. There’s only two of us, so all's hood. No worries about one-upping each other. Just kick back, ride, and peep them fly-ass East LA honnies [laughs].

Tell me something funny about E-Man?
The other day we both got broke tryin’…(secret trick). We were both bleedin’, in pain, and yet we both couldn’t stop laughin’ at each other! We were bloody, dirty, and tired and we both got pulled over by the cops ‘cause they thought we had got into a fight [laughs].

Shout out and thanks?
Primo products, Volume Bikes, and True City Clothing, and I’d also like to thank everyone at Tip Plus for holdin’ me down, Edwin Delarosa for hookin’ it up with some fly-ass Skavenger gear, friends and family. The whole C.C. crew (the homies), and last but not least Glenn PP Milligan (“The Ultimate Filmer”) for puttin’ this whole thang together.

Name: Manuel “E-Man” Cantero
Age: 20

Where were you born?
Mexico.

Where do you live?
East Los Angeles.

What got you started in BMX?
The kids from the other side of the street from where I used to live rode bikes and were able to do a few tricks and flatland moves, so I started chillin’ with them and picked it up from there. None of those guys ride anymore, though.

Who has been your biggest influence riding?
Myself.

What do you think is different about the East LA scene?
Nobody rides out here, that's why there’s only two of us. Maybe with the new skatepark up the street more kids will start riding now.

Tell me something funny about Boy?
He's got the ashy babies in full affect, and he got his nickname ‘cause he comes from a family of 12—all girls. So his dad wanted a boy but just wouldn't get one so they decided to adopt a kid and call him “Boy” since he was the only boy in the family.

Thanks:
Thanks to Volume Bikes, 9*star, DC Shoes, Glenn PP “Ultimate Filmer,” Demolition Parts, and all my family and friends.
