Every year riders across the country get snowed in. Fortunately, that doesn't seem to happen a lot in Albuquerque, NM. We are in the desert for the most part, but this year has been really out of the ordinary weather-wise. This past summer we broke records for rainfall and this winter the same is happening with snow. It's something that we aren't really used to, but I’m sure for others the amount of snow we got is just a joke. Mario the snow man Either way, snow will really put a damper on your riding—it has on our riding especially since Albuquerque has no indoor parks. We have been reduced to riding in parking garages or anything else that is covered. Sessioning curb cuts and ledges has become the norm over the past couple of weeks, but we’re still riding. Our skatepark had been covered with snow for a while, so a couple of us went out to change that. It took a little work, but most of all it took dedication to want to go out and ride despite the weather’s attempt to stop us. I know we aren't the first or the most dedicated to go out and do this, but instead of complaining we went out and rode our bikes. So I’m encouraging everyone this winter season to hop on your bikes, go to the local parking garage, or go grab that snow shovel and broom and go ride. You'll have fun—we did.
