Let's see 'em... 22/24/26" BMX bikes!

1/30/2013 1:30 AM

Just thought I would post the latest pic of the Stolen Saint before I put in into storage. Have bought a P.Street 2 to rock around on instead for a while, having gears and front suspension is going to leave me spoiled!

Final build up?

25th Anniversary S/M Dirt Bike
S/M Pitchfork
S/M bars (dont know the model, bought them at a warehouse sale, maybe small slams?)
Odyssey Chase Hawk Grips
Odyssey Headset
Odyssey Bottom Bracket
Odyssey Vandero Hubs
Odyssey Hazard Lites
Odyssey Path/Aitken Tires
S&M Director Pivotal Seat
Odyssey Evo 2 brake
Odyssey Medium Monolever
S/M Challenger Stem
Odyssey Twombolt Cranks
Shadow Pedals
Osyssey MDS Sprocket
Cult Raw 510 Chain

I'm no expert, but they look like 5.75 29er Slams to me.

Nice bike though, especially the chain

2/2/2013 10:00 AM

hah, yeah forgot to mention I had the chain off for a cleaning when I took the pics.

From what I measure the bars have a 7.25 rise, but yeah they dont look like small slams with that crossbar, they do have an S/M stamp on them though so who knows.

7.25 Slams then? Although I don't know the width on them because these look fairly wide.

I'm going to replace the seat with a Macneil 330mm post and an Ezra Native seat. For the seat I'm torn between getting a blue one and a black one. I'm usually a fan of keeping things subtle, but I'm liking the increase in blue along with the black and silver. What ya'll think?

It's been a long cold winter, but springtime is knocking on the door here in New York. Finally got around to ordering up a new seat and post for my Saint. I went long and comfy.

Kink Flagpole 330mm post and a Deco Deche Fat, both in Black. Ordered from Albe's. Can't wait to get me some comfort!

@Tecnic, I'm not going to quote you because of all the Pics, but that it is sick! Parts list?

Holmes 22, 21.5 TT
22 inch Pitchforks
Revenge Ohm wheelset
Faction F22 tires (If the S&M tires are more trails oriented, I'll prob replace these)
S&M Credence bars (Started with some slams and got these about a month ago. I feel like they really made the bike a lot better)
ODI Long Necks
Animal MR Top Load stem
Premium 1948 crankset (175)
Odyssey Burlington 23T (I know all the cool kids run 60+ gear inches, but that wouldn't work for me)
The brakes and pedals are whatever I could find in my LBS. I was running Twisted PCs, but I got sick of slipping them.

Sounds solid!

Just got her tonight, she is parked up against my sons FIT 18. the pics sucks because the room is dark and I took the pictures with my phone. I took it for a ride out front, it felt really good, except I am almost 35 now, I have not really ridden bmx since I was about 18. I did some hops over the curb and stuff so not to bad for that long of a break but I have a long way to go until I can ride and jump like i used to.

Lol you will never ride like you did. I'm in the 30's club and ride Joyride150 every Tuesday and I feel like dying every time. See when I grew up we had JUMBO sprockets. Now these bikes have little ones and for casual riding outside it sucks. It's double the work.

I'm liking this year model of that bike. However I could live without the orange and the stickers.

3/27/2013 7:57 PM

I dont mind the gearing to much, but then again here in Dallas tx it is flat as a board.
I don't care for the orange either, I plan to swap the grips and pedals for black and remove the stickers on the forks and bars.

3/27/2013 8:03 PM

the gear ratio is the same as it was back in the day.

44/16 is the same as 25/9

Damn, so many rad bikes posted since the last time I was here.

I used to ride a Mirraco 20Forty, but now I ride a Sunday-ed out Premium and I dig it!

4/4/2013 10:08 PM

Great bikes everyone, I'm loving them all. I just recently got back into BMX and was really torn between a 20" and a 22". I'm pretty short, so went with a 20" but I'm really diggin the 22" Holmes--Props to tecnic1 especially!!!

Winter is over-rated
