Shit that really sucks man! Can you get extra master links to make it longer? I think I saw that in a video somewhere

They haven't come out yet.
i really wanted to ride too and had to wait for what felt like ages for it to come and fucked it up before i even got to try it out

Okay i semi fixed it so ill be buying a new one once the porn hub comes out.
i broke another link before that one but didn't take the pin all they way then joined the old part back up and broke it where it is sopossed to be broken.

works great and to those with ratchets it is all good hahaha.
amazing design. Will definatly be buying another one when this one finally gives up (should say if)

maybe go to walmart and get a cheap chain just to ride for now, and when whatever you need comes out get that then?

you only have one chance

Didn't they have a specific breaker for it because of the size of the pins?

I am sick and tired of the "cliques" that this sport has recently developed. We should embrace the fact that we all ride a little kids bike, and not worry about the small details. When you take riding in its most basic form, we are all the same.

6/24/2014 6:47 AM

Yeah, there's an adapter that fits over the pin push on your breaker. Doesn't work with all breakers though according to the ODY video I just watched.

Seems the biggest "con" to this chain is the "one shot to get it right" aspect, however, the video I watched said you could use regular pins too. #confusing because the pins are 5mm, regular pins are 3mm.

The vidoes I watched

6/24/2014 8:47 AM

That's why I've never gotten behind the hype for this chain, there's nothing wrong with a regular chain breaker and a 510 chain

6/24/2014 8:58 AM

I may give it a go after my Shadow is worn enough...aka like 5 years. It's currently 2+ years old now and still going well.

The keychain sure does look cool, but after hearing about the "one shot to get ot right" thing on top of the fact that the pins are hollow (its my policy to not run a chain with any hollow parts), i gotta say i dont think ill ever get one. On the other hand the animal hoder chain looks nice.

6/24/2014 9:46 AM

Shadow interlock supreme. First in line for that.

6/24/2014 9:51 AM

Interlock Supreme!!!!! It's been put back annoyingly though! But Shadow want to get it right, for a reasonable price! Around Xmas is the ETA right now.

They have a solid pin key chain too

There's a normal keychain and a hollow keychain. I'd love to try one out but my bluebird is holding up just fine right now.

Ahhhhh. Shadow needs to hurry up already. That thing looks sexy. Polished one. And it's supposedly really strong right, like almost keychain strong?

The hollow pin version is stronger than the solid pin version. The hollow 5mm pins are much stronger than your normal solid 3mm pin, and the hollow center allows them to create a stronger rivet connection when compared to the 5mm solid pins.

Edit: Plus, with the hollow version, you don't need a chain breaker.

Really, you just need to measure twice, cut once, it's not that hard.

Double post, sorry, but the only thing special about the Interlock Supreme is the plates. They lack the much stronger pins, much stronger rivet connections, and threaded masterlink, which allows you to get the chain to near factory tightness. Pushing pins back into a chain significantly weakens the chain. The Keychain overall is a much stronger design, as well as a much lighter and cheaper design.

The thing is that the Key chain ONLY has a few threaded pins, which means you will still have to push a pin out, and as long as you don't f it up you're good, until you get a new frame.

I totally forgot about the Shadow Interlock supreme ! I hate chains , the whole "if you fuck it up , it's fucked" I don't like. I was told on any chain if you pop the link out , it's extremely hard to put back , so once you do it's gone.

I ordered a Tractor Chain so hopefully that's good , I'm not hard on chains .

Wow i cant believe i went this long without noticing that.. I guess you learn something new everyday lol. Now that i have seen the non-hollow keychains i may bite the bullet and try one.

I have the hollow and I'm not a tiny guy and it has been bullet proof so far

a little hint: don't guess and break your chain based on length, just count the number of links. makes it way easier. even number=normal chain. odd number=half link

I've sold stuff to Ecuadevil, LLURider, and Mario.villegas90 with no complaints.

My shadow chain snapped last week after 2ish years of riding with absolutely NO maintenance done to it. I can't believe it hadn't snapped earlier because there have been times I've out insane amounts of stress on it. I don't get all the hate for it. I'm probably gonna get they keychain though

Honestly? Who gives a shit. Its the fucking internet. I hate all of you equally.

So you can only cut the keychain once? Thats fucking stupid. What if I buy a larger sprocket in the future?

Correct, because pushing pins back into chains significantly weakens the chain. If you want to make it longer, get another master link when they come out.

So what if I break a link? Now I have to buy a whole new chain? Since I cant break it again to replace the link?

I broke my 410H atleast 30times all in different locations and never had a problem with it. Same with my Bluebird.

No. You break the chain to get the broken piece off and use a master link and extra links to put it back together. You can break the chain as many times as you want. You just can't push pins back in.

Thats retarded. So if I want to resize/replace links in my chain, I have to spend MORE money.

No longer getting this chain.
