So like back in October I landed real hard on my foot and bruised my heel...so I think. Now it's January and it's still sore. Had anyone else ever done this or had this problem and how long did it take to heal.

the only really nagging problem i had was 100% my fault... a few months ago there was one night where i rode my ass off after work and must have pulled a muscle or something in my ribs (i never hit them off of anything so it wouldn't be that). hurt like a bitch for a good couple weeks and slowly went away. I went out again after work the other night and now my ribs kill again. its fucked cause there were plenty of times that i rode in between the first time it happened and now where i was fine after

Honestly? Who gives a shit. Its the fucking internet. I hate all of you equally.

It's hard to let heel bruises heal because walking can hurt it again

I think I broke my big toe a couple of years ago. Generally it's fine but I can't bend it as far up as I should be able to.
And I've got ligament and cartilage damage to both knees that happened many moons ago. Scared to get them sorted after meeting a guy who can't walk without crutches after he had the same operation

I have a broken back, a plate and six screws in my left ankle, the right is the worst ankle the radiologist has seen in her 25 year career and my left knee is a bit of mess but that's all from skateboarding. The only BMX injuries I've ever gotten were massive shinners and getting hit in the nuts with the top tube of rear wheel.

Tennis elbow for me, took like 2 months of minimal riding to go away.

My shoulder still sucks from back in the day.

I am sick and tired of the "cliques" that this sport has recently developed. We should embrace the fact that we all ride a little kids bike, and not worry about the small details. When you take riding in its most basic form, we are all the same.

I have had that heel thing happen from playing hockey, and it is annoying. No real way to speed up the process since you really can't isolate or immobilize it. I did find that putting a heating pad on it when I went to bed helped it relax.

funny thing is that after it heals, it can sometimes be tweeked by just misplacing weight on it in the most innocent ways...I always wonder if it is more of a cramp of the muscles that wrap around your heel/ankle....

I also agree that rib injuries are the most annoying. No way to immobilize; real easy to re-injure due to how your chest moves with EVERYTHING you do

I think that as we age we heal worse and worse
How old are you?

For example, when we were little and had a fall on our knees, after a few days, 2 weeks at maximum it would all be fine.
But last year in January, at 26 yo, I had a fall on the ice, directly on my left knee.
At least 7 months the pain was there each time i would put pressure on my knee, as if it was a fresh fall :|

dude, i hear ya....I am 47,and things do hurt for a longer period of time. That is actually my bigger "deterrent" for doing real crazy things on my bike. I want to avoid the months of pain afterwards, not the initial wreck. In the same way, I don't want to go into my older years being all feeble, unflexible, and inactive, so I still end up in some pretty stupid situations. But not like when I was a kid...

The 12 year old me:
friend:" dude, jump that trash can"
me: "got it"
pedal, pedal, pedal...jump....BAM...wipe out....get up, repeat

the 47 year old me:
step son:" dude, jump that trash can"
me: "nah, I will just keep practicing fakies and manuals"

That started to happen to me in my late 20s. Slammed my knee super hard on concrete. Hurt for months if I put any pressure on it. I flew over my bars last summer because I hit a sink hole while hauling ass. I didn't get injured yet Ive had conisistent sternum and back discomfort since then. My buddy I ride with who's 46 (met him on here actually) tore his rotator cuff this fall from simply clipping his back tire hopping something curb height

about 3 and a half weeks ago i smashed my nuts real good doing a wheelie..i looped out and went to jump off the bike and my t shirt got snagged of the nose of my seat and "pogo sticked" the seat and the whole bike up my crotch..annoying isnt the word but more like the worst pain you can imagine...it felt like my nuts got ripped off and some how the seat smashed my pubic bone real good too..the next day my nuts and weiner were purple and blue and my nuts swole to the size of a softball and i didnt even go to the hospital..im still kinda fucked up..im pretty sure i fractured my pubic bone and my nuts have weird hard spot in them now and a weird bulge which makes it look like i have 3 nuts..its only a less than a month out so im hoping i will get back to 100% god willing...i coulnt hardly walk for a week and had to go to work 2 days later

Destroying the arch of my left foot catching cranks weird. I think I'm gonna go back to some thicker cupsole shoes again like 6.0s.

Just about 2 years ago I hurt my knee in a crash and it still hurts when I do tricks. Got an xray and apparently they didn't see any issue with it.
