hahaha win. I have a 90's gt frame, its made in santa monica and i bashed it with no problems. The frame weighed like a little more than 3 pounds too. But i got a different bike because i was afraid of it and having a 3/8ths axle... They arent exactly made for stunts but theyre quality for sure. Yeah, but there's also a reason they BK'd correct? Gary Turner wasn't exactly keeping up with the changing times in bmx so other companies were starting to show him up. I went to the GT factory in Santa Ana a couple times with my dad (I was born in Orange and lived there for years), and it seemed like they were doing fine, so I was suprised. But looking back at it now, it's not suprising at all. Granted they are trying to make a comeback using better geometry, cassette hubs, etc, I don't think they will ever be anywhere near as popular as they were back in the day, but who knows, they may innovate the sport again one of these days and be bigger than ever.bloghogs wrote: Uh,theres a slight difference between selling out and going bankrupt.

I have no reason to hate on GT at all, other than they're old shit was either super heavy, or aluminum and made for racing, and the fact that they were bought out by a shitty Wal Mart bike company. Haha. I just got into it with Blog Hogs, so GT was pulled into the conversation by default. Lol. Their shit definately was solid as fuck back in the day, and I would gladly try out their new stuff...if someone was willing to give me it. I wouldn't chance it tho if I was paying hundreds of dollars for a complete because I know I would never get my money back if I resold it on here or something, even if it was ridden only once. GT whent kaboom because they owned over 54% of the market shair(GT,dyno,robinson,powerlite,and auburn)and made frames for plenty of other companies.When bmx tanked at the end of the 90's,it took GT down with it.
