I was going to replace my forks and when I tried to loosen one of the allen bolts it stripped out real bad. The bolt sits flush into the stem and is in there really tight so I don't really want to try and use an easy-out because it will probably just break off in the bolt. Any suggestions anyone?

what about them??

they cant be fixed

well, i guess if you bought a tap you could fix them

but i would say just buy a new stem because re-threding them is sketchy

you probably pinched your stem shut if you cant get the bolts out without stripping them

The threads in the stem aren't stripped, it is just the 2nd bolt that holds the stem tight onto the forks. I am going to take it up to Lowes and ask them what I should do.

If there is an allen wrench that is between 7/32 and 1/4 of an inch I am good to go but I can't find one.
