I think it's because of the unnecessary stress on the freecoaster. But, idk. A chunk of guys ride f/c with pegs and have no probs.

FTW!

use a acb freecoaster, although nothing really ensures it, the acb would be the best best with pegs, but if you land hard on it, it wont be good.

i think its cause if you bend the axle it'll fuck EVERYTHING in the hub up, but mainly the way it engages.

no you put anglular stress on the bearings, which the bearings arent meant to take they crack or blow and wha-lah bye bye no pedaling backwards.

thats confusing, so freecoasters are used mostly for street, and you grind a lot in street so why would you ride without pegs if you have a fc

i'm pretty sure grinding is more of a radial pressure, while something like kicking the wheel sideways or out to the side is angular...

It's a different style of riding. Just because you ride street doesn't mean you're always grinding and shit. Just find different lines. yadigg?

oh, and i'm pretty sure the idea originated when axles weren't so strong. grinding on any axle was risky when they weren't heat treated like they were today. now i'm sure its perfectly safe to do on a one piece 14mm axle, or at least MUCH better.

people say its bad because it puts alot of stress on the bearings and axle and stuff, but with the new freecoasters like all of the khe's this isnt much of a problem as long as you maintain it well. dont beat the shit out of it and it will be fine. ive rode 2 pegs, 4 pegs, and used to ride pegless and do pegless grinds and ive never broken anything on a freecoaster ever
