it depends on what kind of camera you have
but most camera's will have certain settings where u can select if its sunny, or cloudy, foggy etc. I rekn, number one tip on shooting an edit would definatly have to be use a tripod, theres nothing worse than a shaky video. But with that said, rolling shots are sick. So if you can pull off a smooth rolling video and add a few scenes from on a tripod youl have a decent edit. Oh and dont EVER put photos in a video edit. Makes an edit look so gay.

remotebmx is right, it does depend on your camera. If you have a basic point and shoot, it prob doesn't have a lot of settings. try to always have your back or be 90 degrees from the sun so the shot does get to dark or to bright. If you point it toward the sun the camera will try to compensate for the bright light and make your shot dark. This goes for a High end camera to, don't get me wrong, when you get more advance you can always go against the grain. better safe than sorry for now. With a high end camera low shutter speed for cloudy and higher shutter for sunny. Be careful, low shutter gives more vibrant colors and higher give less, or closer exposures (brightness/darkness of a shot ) between shadows and sunny. Hope this helped!
