1. Is it true that all eastern pruducts come pre-broken to save users time and hassle since there expected to break anyway? 2. who do you think would win in a game of bike? You or your brother Andy Banton?

first of, you're one of my favorite riders. might as well put that out there haha.
what was it like riding for 2-hip? were they a more respectable company back in the day?
you landed the first downside whip, how did you come up with the trick and what's it like knowing you're part of bmx history?
have you ever rode with corey furmage? you have pretty similar styles so that'd be cool to see you riding together
when can we expect your next web edit?
any tips on learning decades? lol

Hey Adam I love your style! I had a great time riding with you at Woodward West last summer man. Your freakin hilarious haha. My question for you, is what riders inspire you? You have a unique style, my guess would be dudes like Erik Elstran you enjoy watching because he also has a similar unique style. So i guess.. Who inspires Mr. Banton?

Hey man,

Why don't you ask Eastern that? I know they will answer your question, I don't work for them, I'm just lucky enough to ride for them, go on some of the best team trips of my life with them and ride a frame that I absolutely love all while laughing and having a blast. Bummes me out that you feel that way. A game of Bike with Andy and me......that would be amazing! Thats a tough one though, cause he is brakeless and I'm on a full kit. I would def say it could go either way. Thanks for the good idea though, now I know what to do next time I see him!

cky199, First off, thank you so much, really means alot man. If you remember me on 2-hip then you have some deep BMX roots like myself. As you know, things were different then, it was great though, I got free bikes and it gave me a chance to film for my first team video. I never went on any trips though, just a few comps. I'm thankfully for the opportunity i had with 2-hip. Ahhh the downside whip, well, way back I used to ride alot of vert. I aired right pedal forward turning to the left, but did everything else (spins, whips, grinds) left pedal forward turning to the right. I could do whips on a box and vert but could'nt do them high, due to me airing oppo, I tried to actually learn oppo whips the way I could air on a vert ramp changing my pedal stance as well, but it just seemed way to hard back then. So.......I started to try kicking my comfortable way I tail whipped the way I could comfortabley air, BUT....I did it with my left pedal forward. Being able to do decade jumps then, also helped with the downside whip at the time. At first I would carve an air and kick the whip, get the bike somewhat around and chuck the bike and knee slide out, eventually I learned it's easier to NOT carve the air and almost do a half decade. I actually named them "Scuttlebutts" after a dish on the Waffle House Menu. Hahaha. I feel completely lucky that I was able to come up with something in BMX and get credit for, no one can take that away, ya know? I'm thankfull. But it was only natural progression, so I guess I feel lucky it was me that helped push that along. I've never had the chance to ride with Corey, but watch all of his edits. It would be a front brake session for sure! I have a split edit dropping very soon! Decades.......Keep your feet tight and somewhat together, your front end has to be higher than your back while in rotation and commit to the pedals! Leaning them on the ground as a flatland move helped me alot.

Whats up TY!! It is true on the downside whip. I'm fortunately to have been apart of that and am thankful. Tips? Um, learn them foot jam style on a wedge first to understand the feel and movement of the whip, then I would try them on a step up hip if you can find one, if not on a mellow quarter maybe or ditch? You gotta stay close to the bike, and watch the front end from getting up too high! Let me know how it goes dude. Thanks for the questions.

Me? wrote: On a scale from rollerbladding to free dome how much do you like footplants?

Hahahahah awesome question. Foot plants/fast plants in my opinion are one of the truest skate style influenced moves on a bike. I love them, it's one of the first tricks I learned and probably do some type of variation of one every time I ride. It's crazy how far back that trick dates in BMX and can easily be seen at X-games, Dew Tour, or the gnar-est web edit to this day, true it may have a oppo flair attached to it, dub whip, or gaping over a hand rail, but it all starts with the foot plant. Thanks man, keep foot plant'en! hahah

Ahhhhhh, great question Kyle, but not sure I have a release date yet, but if your really into my stuff, you can turn your ear to some of my edits the last 2 yrs and that will most likely have some of my new material, that may or may not make the final cut, but it is new. Writers block, people helping me moving to France and BMX always taking priority has delayed it for too long, but it is half way done and is going to happen. I'm taking my time and enjoying the process as much as I can. In the mean time, if you don't have my 2 previous albums check[url=http://iTunes.com/adambanton]to hold you over! Thanks for asking!

Hey Jake, Thanks man.

I really don't even see it as "new school" or "old school" I just see it as BMX in 2012, ya know? I mean, I would not want everyone still riding like they did 10 yrs ago, or if we all had front brakes, or brakes at all. Natural progression has always been one thing I loved about BMX, for yourself and as a whole. It's all riding to me honestly. If you think about it, most of the tricks your average rider thinks is fun are at least 10 yr old tricks anyway, whips, barspins, 360, 720 even 900, tuck no handers, most of the grinds, front flips, back flips, how they are done and the style is really what gives them a new shine, but is very important also. And by no means is that list, "average fun" for everyone hahahha, hopefully you get what I 'm saying. A clicked invert is timeless and feels amazing no matter what year it is. As far as my riding, I just do stuff I think is fun, creative and motivating. I like doing stuff I dont see often, that could be trying something never done before or just something I dont see often. Good question man.

Hahahah Whats up Stephen?, Put that hamsquad in his place, lol. Man, sounds like Andy and I need to get together really soon for a legit game of bike, he's got more tricks up his sleeve than meets the eye and I know he gets loose sometimes, We gotta make this happen. I'm still gonna say its up in the air man, could go either way. I miss riding with him tons.

Hahaha, Hi Leigh.

The most I have ever thought is pretty much going on any Eastern trip with you watching you ride.......just thinking and watching you ride.......then I think more.....then you ride. Thanks for making me think.

Playing music and riding has always been one of the hardest things. I either have more time for one or the other, it never seems to be split 50/50. This can be good and bad. I mean, I'll play for an hour or so everyday , but that does not equate to working on my never ending album that is way over due. BMX has always been the priority but I am always seeking out better ways to balance the 2. Of course being hurt or sore to ride always frees up time. But then again, being gone on BMX trips takes me away from playing. I think my bike and guitars fight at night over me.

Whats up Jordon? Good question my friend. I really dont think the weight matters. Its all relative as to your style of riding. If you want to hop everything in sight, then you may wanna just go super simple with no brakes or pegs, but if you lke to get tech like you are talking about then you prob won't be hopping every single thing you see. Not to say you can't or should't due to your set up, its Freestyle and its up to you. But each certain set up will be more conductive to certain tricks. Plus, with the extra ounces form fronties and pegs you may be able to make up for in other areas. Have fun with the fun(T) brakes if you try them!

Do you run folding tyres or Ti spokes? What do you think about them? They're so much lighter than regular tyres and spokes.

Roqfan thank you so much. I really appreciate that. For real. Filming for Ride BMX's "Industry "was amazing. Not too much has change other than the internet has taking over ya know? BMX'ers still smell at the end of the day, we sleep on floors, cram into a car for road trips and hang out at night talking about the epic times past or present. We all still get flats and we all still get kicked out of our favorite spots, hahah. I love how it is now and loved how it was then.
