Dave Jacobs
The introduction of HD has boosted the quality of BMX videos in a big way, and Dave Jacobs has come up with a way to add a pro-quality fisheye lens to the mix without breaking the bank. Dave’s latest creation is the Lens Bastard, which allows “the fisheye glass from a Mark II to be retrofit with the .6 wide-angle glass for a Panasonic HVX-200 HD camera. It is sold pre-assembled as a complete lens only.” Some of the highlights listed on LensBastard.com include:
-Easy one-hand filming
-Threads into the front of the camera
-CNC machined from high-grade aluminum
-Lenses are securely held in the adapter with a threaded compression ring similar to the one that comes on the Mark II lens
There is a lot more info on LensBastard.com, along with five different video samples to see the quality.
