Image - SundayBikes.comWell this is a shocker... Eric Lichtenberger is no longer riding for Sunday and Odyssey. No details, just this tweet from Eric -

- Here's a text from Eric that pretty much tells his side of the story. Don't mind the fact that Zach Krejmas spelled his last name wrong...

This is mind blowing considering his last banger. He is pushing the pegless street more than anyone right now.

Odyssey doesn't have enthusiasm since their Electronical dvd. They have become company not for youth but for mid age married riders. And now this. Eric is one of a kind rider, Odyssey/Sunday wont be same without him.

If Sunday did in fact drop Eric from the team for budget cut reasons that is pretty fucked up on Sundays behalf!!! They just added Chris Childs to the team how about dropping his ass first he shreds and all but Eric down right kills the BMX game. I'm losing faith in Sunday/Odyssey!!! I'm pretty disappointed in both companies for letting him go they really fucked up. And what does Jim C have to say about the situation? He seems to be avoiding the situation. And if this is the choice of the Sunday TM. Walter Pieringer you should be the one who is let go!!!

still don't get one thing. why pretty much everyone if they aren't pissed off too much are so "polite" after being kicked not just leaving ? and then like Eric anyway going to post "true story" stuff...damn let's play fair and say loud what's going on since the beginning !

Because they are still professionals. Either on the sport side or business side. Everyone knows everyone, and even though it is a terrible thing to happen to anyone, you still have to be professional about it. As you can see, the media can and will post anything they find/receive.

That's pretty crap, he seemed to fit pretty well on both teams I'd say.

what the fucking fuck? I don't think he could get a better offer from anybody else, so I think he's either retiring professionaly, or he did somethiing stupid and they kicked him off both teams. Either way it's a damn shame, he's one of my favorite riders. =(
*Edit: aaaand i was completely wrong

Definitely not retiring. I don't know any of the details, but I'd bet everything I own that it isn't any of the possibilities you suggested.

Most definitely got something lined up for the very near future.

I hope so. There aren't exactly a bunch of companies looking to pick up new pro riders right now...

Yeah it's pretty scary, Eric kills it though so I'm going to have to assume he has something lined up :s
