KC Badger was injured last week when a car he was in was struck by a drunk driver. The collision left KC with a broken collarbone and some more time off of his bike. This is what he had to say about the event.

“My friends Sam, Angel, Ashley, Brandon, and I decided to go to Timeout, our local favorite bar, after our first day of school. We figured it would be a chill night; drink a few, play some pool, ride our bikes home, and wake up and get back to class the next day. Long story short, I met some girls at the bar and decided to let them drive me home so Sam and Brandon could get Ashley home safely; this way everyone would have a safe ride home. I jumped in the car with these two girls and everything was fine until we went to make a turn and I saw a car coming straight for us at full speed. All I had time to do was turn my body and grab the girl sitting next to me to try to defer some of the impact for both of us. We ended up getting t-boned on my door and I instantly knew my collarbone was broken. The worst part of the whole situation was that the driver that hit us was drunk and tried to take off. He hit us so hard that he broke his front axle, so he didn’t get very far. I broke my collarbone and the girl next to me suffered some broken ribs and a collapsed lung, while our car’s driver was fine.”

“I’ve just recently started riding back to what I feel was 100% (or close to it, at least) from my wrist injury I suffered in January, so I’ve decided I pretty much have the worst luck ever and I’m never supposed to film a video part. I broke my leg filming for Kink Cheap Thrills, broke my hand/wrist during filming for Etnies Grounded, and now my wrist and my collarbone while trying to film for the new Odyssey video.”

“After Interbike, the Kink crew is supposed to take a trip from Las Vegas to the northwest, hopefully I’ll be back on my bike by then! Wish me luck!”
