Mark Webb Interview
Mark Webb is one of the most amazing riders in BMX, and he recently took a slam that’s put him out of commission. DJBMXMC did a little interview with Webb to find out how things are progressing, and thank goodness it’s good news!

There have been plenty of rumors going around; set the record straight and tell us what happened.
Right, I missed the snap point on a front-flip over a four-foot box and bailed upside down. Made it ‘round to my arse, landed in a seated position, and broke my L1 vertebrae.
What’s the recovery process for this type of injury and what are the chances of you having surgery?
So about three weeks after the accident I had another X-ray and they said by the look of things it was stable, and the shape of my lumbar spine had not changed, therefore there was no need for surgery this time. Thank God! But I’m looking at spending the next three months off my bike.
After breaking your wrist/arm at The Masters, missing out on the X Games, and now this injury are feeling a bit hard-done by?
Not really; if you’re gonna roll the dice you gotta expect to pay the price.
Finally, what are Mark Webb’s plans for 2008 (apart from staying injury free!)?
I would like to ride some of the contests in the States after finding a way to pay for it—LOL!
