Omar from Animal just sent over this information about Animal's new rim:
"Since I spilled the beans on the new animal rims here are some shots of the first samples that we got and have been testing for a couple months. The basic idea of these rims was to design a rim that takes into consideration that most of the team doesn't run brakes and to use that as a opportunity to create a new shape (if you run brakes, don't worry, brakes will still work on them, pad placement just has to be a little more precise). The lower section of the sidewall is angled and drilled (the holes on the final rims will be cleaner looking) and it features spoke cross-lacing. You can expect them to be available in a bunch of colors and weigh in around 17oz."
