Zack Gerber Bike Check & Mini Interview
Name: Zack Gerber
Hometown: Ridgway, PA
Sponsors: Redline Bicycles, Snafu Components, Albe's BMX Mail Order, Urban Kreation Jeans, and Misled Clothing
Age you started riding: 12
First bike: Specialized TRX
First trick: One footer where I'd hit the ramp with one crank all the way down, so it was easier to take my other foot off mid air.
Tries it took to frontflip 9 set: 2 or 3 I think?
Tries it took to flair off loading dock: 7th try I landed it.
What sort of things did you practice to prep yourself for the loading dock flair: Aside from doing flairs on small quarters for years, nothing really. I just found the setup I was looking for, that I had in my head for awhile, and I did it.
I've seen videos of you playing Dave Mirra 2, is that how you come up with all these crazy ideas: Hahaha No, but that game really does rule. I've spent plenty of hours behind the controller of that game.
Any other crazy tricks up your sleeve: Not sure yet, but there are some things I have in mind. I've just got to continue to travel and find the right setups.
Favorite place you have traveled: I've only traveled within the US, but Cali was pretty sweet. However, Philly/NJ is my favorite place to ride.
Any plans for the rest of 2012: Not sure. Just trying to stay busy and continue to have fun.
Any last comments: I'd like to thank you, Lorenzo Gallegos, for giving me this opportunity to give a VitalBMX bike check and mini interview. I'd like to thank my parents for helping me and always supporting me. If it wasn't for them, I don't know where or what I'd be doing right now. Thank goodness for my fiancé. Keeping it real, and being a huge motivator in my life. Thanks to my sponsors for keeping me bike rolling. Finally, thanks to everyone who is stoked on my riding, and reading this interview. Thank you everyone!
