Los Angeles, California – August 8, 2006 – 19 year old Scotty Cranmer took home the Gold medal in the BMX Park Competition with a bevy of huge tricks and creative lines.
Scotty Cranmer, the youngest BMX competitor in the X Games, walked away with the top honors in the BMX Park competition, winning his first X Games Gold medal and improving upon last years Silver medal. Cranmer’s winning run was a relative clinic of the biggest and most technical tricks known to BMX, including a tailwhip dropping into the park, a double whip over the big hip, a 360 double whip over the step-up ramp and a front-flip turn down over the step up. The run was definitely worthy of the Gold medal and highlighted just how talented this younger rider is. "This event is so awesome," said Cranmer following his victory. "The riding levels are out of this world. This course couldn't have been better. It was a good day."
Scotty will be competing next at stop number three of the Dew Action Sports Tour where he looks forward to trying to make it back to back victories.
Scotty Cranmer would like to thank all his sponsors for their support: Felt Bikes, Fox Racing, Vans Shoes, Tylenol, Profile Racing, Unbound Energy Drink, and Staff Mail Order.
