Los Angeles, California – August 4, 2006 – Ryan Nyquist Continues his Winning Ways with a Silver Medal at X-Games 12 in the BMX Dirt Competition.
In the BMX Dirt competition, Ryan Nyquist continued his winning ways by throwing down the first ever X-Games Bar-spin 720, earning him the Silver Medal at X-Games 12. Ryan, who just won the BMX Dirt Competition at the Denver stop of the Dew Action Sports Tour, carried the momentum into X-Games 12 and finished in the second spot. Ryan’s no stranger to X-Games medals as he is the winner of more BMX Dirt medals than any other athlete in X-Games history. Nyquist said afterwards: "It feels good. I had a chance to do a great run but I'm happy with second. In past years I was in eighth and 10th, so it feels good to be on the podium.” However this won’t be Ryan’s only chance for X-Games medals as we will also see Nyquist compete in BMX Park and the newest BMX discipline added to this year's line-up, BMX Big Air.
Ryan would like to thank all his sponsors: Haro Bicycles, Adidas, Thor, OGIO Bags, Napster, and Jiffy Mart of Los Gatos.
