Mongoose Prototype Frame
Check out this new prototype frame from Mongoose that JJ Palmere will be riding. Here is what they had to say about it:In the coming weeks you will be seeing JJ on a new frame and may wonder “what is that?”, well here is a sneak peek at the new Mongoose unnamed prototype he’ll be running. Being a prototype things can change but for now we can tell you it is 4.5lbs of Reynolds 725 butted and heat treated cromo, 21” TT with fully removable brake hardware. Simply put JJ said “its sick, I’m so excited”

Benfit4life : Bigger diameter tubes = less flexion for the same amount of metal = less weight for same stiffness. But sure there is a limit to what diameter size to use, If the thickness is too thin compared to the diameter of the tube it will buckle. That's pretty basic design made upon strength of material knowledge. So small diameter tubes are not a good engineering choice if you want a good lateral stiffness of the frame.

for a mongoose though its really good, just saying all that about frames in general

too chunky, Companies need some smaller diameter thicker tubing frames like the dak, and there is no reason to have seat tubes that fat. and from what it looks like it has a wishbone chainstay, which in my opinion are hideous

The removable brakeware and seatstays are ugly but it looks pretty sick overall.
