Redline's Device Rame with Crackle Finish

Redline's Device Rame with Crackle Finish
This is Redline's new Device frame and the crackle finish that Tyrone Williams designed. Here is what Redline had to say about this:

The Tyrone Williams’ inspired “Crackle” finished DEVICE frames have just arrived and are selling like hotcakes. This is the 5THgeneration, with two key changes made to the frame: 1] All brake mounts, cable-mounts and rotor tabs are removable/bolt-on, and 2] The Device downtube is now gussetless, thanks to beefier inner tubing on the new downtube (i.e. more metal on the inside, where the bottom gusset normally goes).

The new DEVICE frames also come stickerless; and include a variety pack of Redline Device decal sheets, for you to deck it out however you want. Look for our F/S cartel of HUCKER, KIRALLY, FUZZY and TYRONE to be putting these frames to the test in this years’ Dew Action Sports tour – and trails near you. In three sizes – 20.5, 20.75 and 21”.

--The finish is not a paint job. Think of it more like a high-tech temporary tattoo, only permanent. The ink is heat-transferred from specially printed cloth into the powder coated base. The result is a more durable and smoother finish than any paint job. The process is called ‘sublimation’ and is a very expensive and labor intensive process. Also, the photo online is of the first prototype. The end result has a more subtle look to it.

--All of the braking hardware is fully removable. The tabs, the cable stops, and the brake pivots. (The photo is an early prototype before these features were added)
--The new frame also has an offset-butted downtube, meaning there is more material where the gussets used to be. (Again, the photo is an early prototype. The frames have no top tube or downtube gussets. They look really clean)

--All tubing is 100% Sanko chromoly and the entire frame is heat treated after welding. Compare this to other frames which heat treat ONLY the BB shell, Head tube, and dropouts, before welding. This frame is incredibly strong for how light it is.

--The decals come on a separate sheet. You can put them on the frame or your parent’s station wagon

--Also new and not shown in the photo is the integrated seat post clamp, allowing a lower seat tube extension, the new lighter head tube shape, and the laser cut plate on the seat stays

Awesome frame but their is a flaw! All frames that are made from Japanese sanko dent easily and aren't strong! I will tell this because i had the Fit Chase dehart frame and it cracked in the weld! I am still riding it i am just waiting for the frame to totally crack! I will tell you its not worth the money at all! Thats all really need to say

All those features sound great but its all just a freakin waste if the back end is welded on crooked as hell. To hell with Pacific Bikes!

I don't know what to say but that this is most likely a FUJI FRAME and for some reason they can't weld frames together straight to save their lives. Then they turn around and won't give you a new one when your driver is 1.5 - 2 inches off from lining up with the sprocket and ruins expensive parts very quickly. Even if they do send you a new frame its like a 90 percent chance it is just as crooked! WTF
