i got this custom on s&m and this frame is amazing, it spins fast and i got it a little bigger at 21.25 and its super light but i wish i got some capped seat/chain stays because i dont want water to get in and start rusting, overall this is a big upgrade from the l.a.f. and i reccomend this to any body that rides anything, street, trails, and park.
i have a ltf and love it its alil messed up from assholes throwin my bike i got a huge dent in the top tube and 2 lil dents on the down tube im looken at the randy brown right now nd im defently going to get it now nd im not the smoothest rider out there nd i havent but a single stress spot on the frame
Ya they need to make Berringer and Jeff a frame before Randy brown and all of them. Beringer has been there for 10 years or more and Jeff has been on the team for at least 3 now. But they are making frames for people who are brand new to the team. Like 4-6 month members. Trust me Jeff really deserves one to. He is to good not to have one. People only know he's as good as his video part in I wanna Live. But Jeff is one of those riders with that natural talent. He can do what he wants, when he wants. When he rides my local park, airing 9 feet or more to do tricks is just a regular thing. He doesn't ride pegs EVER. But he can grab a bike with pegs and show everyone up on a rail.
Ya the cam frame is weird! I always thought of cam wood as the guy who murdered street. Did massive 360's and 180's. When I saw that his signature frame was 3/8 and meant for trails Iaughed.
Yeah the fit lurch is awesome, I was able to get ahold of a 21.5" prototype. Before they get Lil Jeff a frame S&M should make Beringer one. He's been on their team and tm for roughly 10 years I think. The blackbike's and the new dirt bike seem to sort of be his unofficial signature frame, but he really should get one. Cam Wood's frame is sick too, but you're paying S&M and Profile if you buy it, the Profile 3/8" mini is the only rear hub I've found that can work with his frame. Which is quite a bummer
S&M or Fit needs to make a 6 lb frame with a 14 rear end.
BRINNGGGG BACK THE VVVAAANNNNN. Or label something else.
That was my favorite frame ever and it fit so well. As far as i know i am the only one to break it.
but i would still love to get another.

ha I just cant trust a frame thats lighter tahn 5lbs its just weird. And these short rear ends drive me nuts.
Ya it does look more fragile. That's for sure. That extra half ounce or more just makes the frame that much lighter. All the companies are definatly gonna compete to make the lightest, most reliable frame. So along with the fact that micro dropouts probably match up flush with pegs and things like that, they just want them to look sleek and be lighter than fuck! My frame has Micro dropouts on it and i've been running it for a while now. It seems pretty reliable to me so far, and i'm 6'2 at just under 200lbs. At first I was a little skeptical, but i've come to trust them. I just got some of the S&M race XLT forks and i'm in the skeptical faze right now. But I think they will work out.
I definitely love S&M and Fit like I said. And I understand there is more to frame strength than weight. If that was the case... people would make 10lb. frames and call them unbreakable. It's just that when looking at frames like the Premium Lowpez or whatever, or that new KHE shit, the frames LOOK fragile. It just seems silly to me to shave the half an ounce (which seems to be the MOST they could save from making smaller dropouts...) from the dropouts. That little tiny bit of weight seems like it would make a world of difference as far as the strength and rigidity of the dropouts is concerned.
I don't think they would keep putting micro droputs on frames if they were going to break all the time. Were else can they possibly shave off weight safely ? I think the reason they make Micro dropouts is so that when you grind, the dropout is small enough that it's not always hitting the ledge bending your dropouts in so you cant get your wheel off. Your people better get used to the micro dropouts, cuz they are here to stay. It's just like the movement from American and Euro BB to the more modern efficient Mid BB If you have one of these new frames you would know. The metal is paper thin. Dont get me wrong, It's not bad though. That's why they have such a good heat treating process. Keeps the weight down and the strenght up. I think all the new S&M frames are amazing. I already know they will be trustworthy. It's not like they just make something and ship it out to the world. They make prototypes, the riders test them. If they dont work they renovate them until it is top of the line and then it is produced and shipped out. But I don't get it. Little Jeff Landtiser has been on S&M for 3 years KILLING it, and they havn't made one for him yet. What's up with that? MAKE JEFF A FRAME!!! I've riden with Jeff a lot and most people wouldn't even understand how good he is just by his part in I wanna live. He has more style and control over his bike that anyone on the S&M team. He's the Chase Hawk of S&M for sure. He deserves a frame. S&M is making frames for guys that havn't even been on the team for 6 months. Kinda disrespectful if you ask me.
By the way lighter weight doesn't make something more breakable. It's like the LTF. The LTF was made as a street frame you know. If you look at the Dans comps or anything when the LTF first came out, it was made by Bob Scerbo(Street rider) for street riding. You might not trust the frames from reading about them, but if you actually rode one you would actually figure out that it is trustworthy. If it does break easy for you, then it's your riding you need to worry about. You might be a little to rough and scetchy. Smoothen out your riding and you wont have anything to worry about.
But either way S&M makes better frames than anyone out there. It's a small company who's been around for ever and wont be gone any time soon. Keep up the good American made work S&M!!! I'll be riding your products till the end!
True i think the drop outs are a little too micro if they trim the top tube or the top part of the chain stay that would help reduce oz. without cutting down power of the frame...the dropouts get hit with grinds and take ALOT of hits from big drops to flat so even tho this is a sweet frame i wouldnt get it because the dropouts. The DAK too i love the aktin 3.0 the 3.5 is ok but the frames that are 4.10 and under are too light and breakable.
It's the Dak with a shorter back end. Can't wait for all those dropouts to break. I love Fit and S&M but these "micro dropouts" everyone is putting on bikes are a terrible idea. Save weight somewhere else. Or better yet, just make solid, American, 5 lb. frames like you (S&M...) usually do.
