Standard Shaman Custom Reissue
Are you a die hard fan of the classic Standard Shaman? Check out what Standard is doing:"In 1998 Standard debuted The Shaman, designed for flatland and street rider Bobby Fisher. As demand for a frame like this died down, like the Indian medicine man namesake, the Shaman faded from memory into obscurity, but still being praised by those die hard fans still riding them 10 years later.
That is until recently when Standard started the custom shop and were able to do modern versions of our old frames for a growing contingent in the BMX world that want a high quality custom frame. So, the order came through for the rebirth of the Shaman with Integrated Head tube, Euro bb, welded on gyro tabs, seat stay 990's and 3/8" thick 1/4" dropouts which seemed normal enough. But then the decision was made to go all out with a version with Mid bb with 14mm dropouts and adding this to the available custom line.
The first versions are built and plans for more, plus the internet buzz over some twittered spy photos have got everyone saying that they have seen Bobby Fisher and he is amazed at the response that we are getting from this rebirth of the Shaman.
Any riders interested in custom, vintage or re-issued Standard Byke Company products can call 563-323-4894 or email info@standardbyke.com for more info or a quote."

My 2nd bike is a Standard shaman. 4 piece bars, hand cannon pegs, 3-piece cranks, platform petal's, free-coaster on triple wall alex w/ oversized spokes, 30t front 11t rear and only front brakes. Heavy as possible. Solid frame.

i fell in love with the sta500 when i first started riding but bought a lengthy cos they had 10mm thick dropouts and i was fed up of snapping frames when i was grinding.
i know someone who still has an original shaman......

Steven is ignorant. That was a super common design for years, and actually is VERY strong.Since the seat tube goes THROUGH the top tube, it is a much stronger junction. And that gusset you find gross is there to STRENGTHEN the downtube/headtube junction. Plus this bike was designed with some flatland in mind, so there has to be room for scuffing etc, hence them bringing the downtube in differently for said room.
I really hate it when people dislike something based merely on appearance.
Frame looks solid, i'd get one if I was in the market for a frame.

Why would anybody give this frame a thumbs down?! I loved Standard frames back in the day. Never owned one, but was always envious of those who did.

GPP, you know better than that.
The doors are always open.
This first custom doesnt have an official weight on it yet, but there is a more modern "lighter" version in the works as we speak.
Stickers will be a version of the original.
Bobby is still in Knoxville as legend has it, working the tire store. We are all waiting to hear from him and really stoked waiting...
Watching this frame being made gave me goose bumps. (Im a nerd for good vintage bmx, this is it...)

wow when i was a kid i wanted either a shaman or a warpig but i really really wanted the shaman. I think back then my idea was that it was the same top-tube size as my first bike the dyno air and i could bunny hop crazy high on that. Are they gonna use the same stickers on it? Is the frame lighter now? Stronger?
