What is this East Coast vs. West Coast. Both Fit and FBM are sick American made companies. Although I have and always will ride Fit frames and parts, Crandall know's what's what, and gets it done everyday with FBM.

GMoney, I think the reson they machined out the sides instead of the middle is because of the bend in the middle of the stem, you can't drill a hole with a bend in it so they wouldn't have been able to remove as much material and maintain strength, really machining out the sides was probably the best way to get the most weight reduction and still have the stem remain strong.

I'm getting this cause i'm gonna get the grand slams and the grand slams have a 29 inch width but they are too high. I need 8 inch bars or 7.75.

i wasnt able to lower my bars, cause my stem is slammed i had to put in a spacer and it raised the bars back to where they were. but this is no doubt the best stem ever, it looks sick and the clamp design holds the best of any stems out there. i got it in gold

hahahaha ^^^^ true that.. fit keeps pushing the limits with the evolution of new lighter parts, and ideas.. what has fbm done lately? i still like fbm but they dont come out with anyting new and awesome like fit... stay fit

I personally like my bars high but i think its a good idea if you like em low and wide, but my buddy twisted his after 2 weeks of riding it, i think they should have drilled out the middle instead of the sides made a wee bit stronger, but hey all products have some with defects and they warentied it.
