oh shit. here comes the shit talking.
i'm currently sort of learning over grinds. not neccesarily on a skatepark rail though. the first one i did at a park was with a bank on the side i was jumping from and stairs on the other. now i just need to grow balls and throw it down some stairs. this really didn't help me too much though lol

I'm sorry this isn't up to par with your skill level "DannyAMB", but it was meant to be an instructional for riders that aren't quite as advanced as you are. I was trying to explain the safest way to go about learning how to do this trick, and a skate park is definitely the safest. If you don't have a park to ride, you could always try it on a low flat rail in a parking lot or something. I apologize for not saying something to that effect in the how-to.

I love it when someone is talking shit about someone else, and then that someone else walks into the room. That's what happened to Danny. I laughed a lot.

Overall, I like the how to. But Morgan, I have always had a problem with missing my back peg. Any tips? Also, I get the impression its a little easier on rails going down instead of flat rails. I've only really tried them on flat rails and I find it really hard to stay on the rail. I usually chink the pegs and start to come off. I can't seem to lean into it enough. Also, is it easier if you go more parallel with the rail or more at an angle?

"Colley Bailey", If your back peg is missing the rail it's probably because you're concentrating too much on getting your back peg on the rail. For me when I do hop over grinds, sometimes if I try too hard I'll miss my back end. Aim the front peg onto the rail and the back will fallow. Make sure you pick your back wheel up enough to clear the rail though, or you'll end up in a crooked grind. I've had that happen a few times, and it has the potential to not be good! On a flat rail you should be ok if this happens though. To get your weight right just jump into it at more of an angle so your body weight says on the side of the rail you started on. So you want to lean into it more. I think it's best to hit it at a slight angle. Not strait, but not to much sideways ether. If you go at too much of an angle it makes it hard to get your balance on the rail. It's easier on a rail that slants downward, but if you can nail it on a flat rail then you can do it on a down rail! Good luck!

lol at the guy hating on morgan.seriously man, have you seen any of the videos he was in??or any x-games he competed in?he does the craziest transfers, kills himself all the time, and smiles non stop!a truly nice person.
he kind of sounds sad in this video, though, which is okay, he can't be cheerful all the time, and i guess this is just a bad compulsory levi's makes him do.
and it's no wonder this wasn't so much help, no one can teach you to ride, you know.i haven't ever seen a how-to that was really actually helpful.but yeah, keep it up morgan, you're great!/and sorry for the long post/

I wasn't sad, I was really tired. Will and I had just finished driving pretty much all night. And no, Levi's doesn't make me do those, it was actually my idea. Will has to edit 40 web videos this year, so I'm trying to help him out as much as possible. =) I'm smiling now! Just wait, there are a few more on their way that will be interesting to see if anyone even tries them! =P

You think it's okay to learn over double pegs when a double peg is the best trick I can do on a rail? I've welded my own rail together, and it's like 12" tall so it's easy to hop over. And do you think I should ride at it at more of an angle and turn farther in the air, or at less of an angle and hop side-ways?

I think you should definitely learn hop over grinds on you rail "Ep!c"!!! That my friend would be progression! It's a good thing! Soon your best trick on a rail will be hop over grinds! When I was growing up riding my local park I had a little game I would play with myself. I never told anyone else about it, but I would try to do something that I had never done before every time I would go to the park. Even if it was a trick I'd done a million times but I did it somewhere new in the park! I really enjoyed it, and I must have ridden there more than a thousand times! There were only a few times that I didn't win my little game. There is always something new to do! As for the grind, I'd say ride at your rail from a 10 to 15 degree angle. Not much at all, but just enough to where you don't have to kick your back end sideways to get it over the rail. =)

I just love the fact that a real pro bmx:er sponsored by some of the biggest companys answers on peoples comments and questions. That's another thing that's great about the bmx-world, because i don't think that a pro basketballer or footballer would do the same thing. And thank you morgan for the how-to and for being a great bmx-rider!
