There's pads inside like break shoes on a car with drum breaks. Remove the and you'll be good to go. You may want to remove the spring I think as well I don't remember clearly. The last time I took apart a coaster brake was when I was 8 years old

I have em and I've never hit them. My column cranks I do sometimes.
165mm killers are stiff as hell. I weigh 220lbs and have had no issues with them over a year now.

Honestly I don't really notice a difference.
I have 14mm axle on my Sunday front wheel. I have the 14mm pitchforks though.
I have a TSG EVO and I usually wear a sm/m and the medium fits me snug if that helps.
