This. Your headset will only get loose if you didn't tighten your stem right. Having things setup this way works just fine.

Added reply in a thread Odyssey antigram rear hub any good? 2/6/2015 8:48 AM

I've been running one since last april-may and it has been great. Light and strong. I also run the Tree bolt on my non-peg side to save a little weight. You can get an antigram cassette super cheap on eBay (I got mine for $99 new I think).

Part of the reason why the tripod seat concept was invented is because to use the pivotal design you have to pay MacNeil royalties.

Aluminum nipple are not worth the loss in strength. Those stupid things strip too easily. Stick with brass.

Added reply in a thread Cassettes vs. Freecoasters 1/29/2015 9:34 AM

Just because you don't have to backpedal when going fakie with a freecoaster doesn't mean that it's easier to ride than a cassette. Freecoasters are great and can make riding super fun, that's my take on it.

Added reply in a thread New crank set!! wich? 1/28/2015 5:45 PM

I'd recommend thunderbolts. I've been running twombolts since 2012 and they're still running strong. The thunders are the updated version. I'd also consider trying out the socket drive and getting a new sprocket.

Demolition Vulcan V2. Sealed bearing pivots, CNC machined and Nyquist runs them which says alot. The Tektro FX950s look good too. Brakes with sealed bearing pivots are definitely worth it.

I have them on my bermuda. They do their job and keep my wheel in line. I like them mostly because they make setting chain tension really easy.

Odyssey Antigram. I have one and it's great.

Caustic soda crystals are sodium hydroxide whice is a base, not an acid. Also you can add some vinegar to the solution before disposing of it to neutralize the base. Good write up but people really need to be careful when doing this since the base is ... more »

Transitions skatepark in dearborn is fun as is modern skatepark so those are also worth a look and might be closer than zero. The three parks I ride the most in the winter are transitions, zero and modern. I think theyre all pretty fun.

Added reply in a thread WHAT makes a good street frame. 1/5/2015 9:12 AM

I usually pick a light frame that has the geo I want. I'm 6ft so I like a long 21.25tt and a relatively short rear end (13.5). I also wanted a little tighter steering so I got a 75 degree ht angle. Finally I run a gyro so removable 990 mounts and gyro ... more »

These questions tell me that you might not be ready for front brakes.... You'll need new forks with 990 mounts. Usually forks that have 990 mounts will also have a hollow bolt to route the cable. I recommend the Odyssey f25 forks because they're pretty ... more »

Added reply in a thread anyone with breaks? 12/24/2014 3:20 PM

I think that the compound in clear brake pads will wear away the chrome on a chrome rim; that's probably why you shouldn't run them with a chrome rim. Stick to black pads with chrome rims. That's what I run and it works out great. For brakes get: Whatever ... more »
