The copyright is also present on the half cab logo so it is a straight up parody... the guy in my screencap was handing out the awards, so he has to be a higher up with Vans. There was another guy wearing a white one too....

I got the S1 Lifer because it has a smaller form factor and is certified for multi low impacts as well as the single high impact.

No one has mentioned that you also need to do the chin strap correctly too. I see so many videos where they are riding all loose and the helmet comes off their head when they fall... if you are gonna wear it that way, why even bother with it at all.. ... more »

If you crank it fast or hard it will engage (and potentially damage) the hub. Pretty sure one of brant's videos shows him slow pedaling forward while rolling backwards.

So far the only times it has engaged on me or rather didn't disengage was when I was doing really slow roll backs on a quarter. If I gave a little hop before I rolled back it would freecoast no problem... I am still trying to figure out how to half-bunnyhop ... more »

They still do. I just got one for a trip this past spring. My flight out I used the curb side porters (who work for tips) and all they asked was "one bag?" they didn't even weigh it or question anything about it. On my way back there were no porters ... more »

Reply to Any tips for an old man on a freecoaster? Particularly roll outs/half cabs from fakie? 9/8/2019 6:29 AM

Awesome! Thanks for the pointers! It is pretty fun rolling back without the back pedaling. I always had issues timing myself to get my feet back in position for a half cab or rollout. I had a couple "a ha" moments on the freecoaster like that I wasn't ... more »

The hub is now listed in BMX Union's spoke calculator.

Cool. So far I am digging it. It is pretty quiet when rolling forward. That is going to take some getting used to. I have only ever ridden cassettes and I use the sound to judge my speed from time to time...

Yes!

In one of Brant's videos he has a friend doing taps and one attempt he had pedal pressure but to me it looked like the wheel never went backwards enough, all the other attempts you can see the wheel move backwards and he had no pressure. I just got mine

In one of Brant Moore's videos there is some attempts at tap stuff. It seems to me from the videos that ANY backwards movement of the wheel results in coasting so no pedal pressure.

I pulled the trigger and got one for myself! I know in your video you said you did the break in period. What was your process? How long did you go before you went backwards?? How is the hub now? Do you think your break in time was enough? Have you had ... more »

$130 for a cabin for the weekend is pretty cool

Oh yeah! I forgot about that part of his injury. I ride with a S1 Lifer and I love it. Certified for low mutli-hits and 1 high impact.

Would a certified helmet in Scotty's case made a difference?? He went face first into the ground. Your neck can only move so much...

Really interested in this one. They also have a complete wheel with the rims I like too!!

Reply to Way behind the times...where to start on a new bike... 7/17/2019 3:53 PM

Be on the lookout for double wall rims too. Sunday, Kink, We The People make some great completes. If you go the complete route you can get a decent bike to start off with then slowly play around with what feels good to you and the style of riding. I ... more »

You didn't say what year you have. I had a 2017 and it came stock with 2.4 in the front and 2.3 in the rear.

You should definitely use the size chart and do the measurements. Blindly I would have assumed L or XL and my measurements called for xxl and they fit awesome..
