The Walsh stem finally arrived. Super impressed with how… compatible I guess? Everything is. I’ve definitely had a bunch of stems get a little weird on chrome steerer tubes in the past, and this thing slid straight on. It was refreshing not having to
I’ve had birdcages for a year, ride predominately bigger bowls and occasionally trails. Other than the touch up once they bed in I haven’t had to touch them. I’m 5’9” and 220lbs
Headed up to ride Bar Beach at Newcastle for my friends 31st. I’ve never really clicked with this bowl, there’s a kink at the 9ft mark where it goes to vert which makes it super unpredictable. Just as I started to figure it we got rained out. Luckily
Mostly for simplicity’s sake. It’s always a little bit fiddly to set; and mine is a pre-production piece so I’m not sure if it’s as good as the production models. It makes me less inclined to take my bike with me when I travel. Walsh is more or less ... more »
Have finally given up on the wedge clamp system of the cyclops and ordered an Odyssey Walsh Stem
I like the ones with garlic sauces and chips
Lots of good options in here. I have a 21.25 backwoods and it feels significantly more responsive than my 21.25 T1 SFA did. If you’ve come from a Ruben and run modern parts it’d probably feel responsive enough. T1 skapegoat, federal boyd, federal DLX, ... more »
Park looks fun! Made it out to Sydney park for a Sunday session. 40 year old bogans we’re riding scooters and smoking durries in the flat bottom of the bowl so I rode the plaza, which was where the session was anyway. I tried to air out of the vert wall,
I’ve never had any negative experiences with odyssey or gsport rims, but any complete wheel I’ve had always tends to need to be trued more frequently than custom and I assume that comes down to spoke quality
I’d probably go T1 and fly, could very easily switch fly for odyssey though
I mean all they’d have to do is put an ODSY faceplate on this and job done.
Is Demolition on its way out? I feel like they’ve lost a few riders lately and not really had anyone replace them. I’m not sure I remember seeing any new parts from them recently
That’s rad man!
I ride as much as I can, usually twice a week while I have my kid and maybe once on the weekends when without him. I kinda think posting is sorta taboo now but I post every time I ride because I get stoked seeing other people ride, so maybe it works ... more »
My wife took my car to work which has my bike in it so I’m not going riding. Instead, I’m watching road fools 12 and it’s almost as good as if I were actually riding
Alright so I think this thing has reached its final form. I came across my old 33T tree OG sprocket, which I naturally put straight on there. Stoked with it. Also rode it for the first time today, feels way too good to just be a spare bike.
If there’s anyone I’d trust to teach me to do hop 3s it’s probably you Lee
