Paul is massively underrated IMO. Stoked to see him pop up. Josh has been good since he was 12, can’t imagine how good he’s gonna be when he’s 25
All of that has already been covered dude. Enjoy your tapered tubes I guess
No they don’t. Most pros build up a bike once a year, and it isn’t because they’re broken. Standards don’t need to change, we realised bikes didn’t need to be so overbuilt so we stopped doing it.
That’s a 20 year old bike my dude
The point is Dave wasn’t churning endlessly through bikes. If these hypothetical “athletes” aren’t riding BMX, it isn’t because the bikes aren’t good enough.
Lol a quote from the very post he referenced as proof: “Most of the cases, common sense works, and if 90% of bmx brands do use certain type of design you might well consider there're good reasons for it” which is what we’ve all been saying this whole ... more »
Thanks dudes! The rain here is relentless so I don’t even really wanna build it yet because I won’t be able to ride. Geo is pretty standard bowl/trail set up. 74.5°HT, 13.75”CS, 21.4”TT, 70°ST, 11.5” BB, 8.6"SO Not sure why, but 70° was the only ST option, ... more »
Ordered this in December, and it finally arrived today. Woods Bicycle Company custom frame to replace my SFA. It’s effectively barcode with a lower BB. Very excited to put it together once I get a seat clamp and bearings. Also stoked to be riding a frame
On what basis? BMX has always had these “power athletes” (corny ass term). Osato, Morgan Wade and Nick Bruce are three examples off the top of my head, and if what you are saying were true they’d be constantly going through bikes. I mean, I weigh 100kg ... more »
Look, I’ll cop that. I was operating off the conventional wisdom that aluminium= stiff. Good to know. Here’s the thing though; nobody, or at least a negligible umber of people are asking for their freestyle bikes to be stiffer, and they definitely aren’t ... more »
Completely disregarding the supposed merits or drawbacks of what you’re proposing, by making complete bikes heavier I think you’d actually exclude more people rather than opening the floodgates for some untapped talent pool. More often than not the people ... more »
That’s a very high end race bike, not a low-end feeestyle bike like you seemed to be describing. It’s already using stiff, strong and light materials, which mitigates any of the drawbacks. It is fucking ugly though. It’s also very rare that anything ... more »
Thanks man! I definitely do, but it's also because there isn't much else in Sydney haha
Surely shoes on would be the preferable option? It doesn't look like Trey owns socks
I’ve kinda always though 13.5ish is the perfect middle ground. Works well enough on most things
OP is peak Seymour Skinner behaviour. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYAuR5bkIlQ
I’m sure Tim is right but my V2s rattled like fuck so I put them on my wife’s bike and bought trailmixes
Yeah the flow room looks sick, I’m pretty interested in riding concrete indoors haha, we don’t really have indoors here so I’ve never really clicked with riding wood
That's a bit disappointing. The big bowl room looks fun but I'd imagine the street room would be their bread and butter if it was done properly. Was looking forward to checking it out when I make it to England next.
I think calling either hub a cheater hub is corny. Each tool has a preferred use case- ya can't do a fakie frontie on a cassette just like you can't do a pedal pressure 540 hurricane on a coaster.
