How good is spreading the Christmas cheer! Figure I might as well get involved. Five Dock vans contest from a few years ago.
It’s rad for sure! This lacks the track aspect, it’s kinda three lines of varying difficulty.
This looks so fucking sick
Replaced the Cult F&L tyres for some Relic Flatout Tan walls. Big fan so far, I like having a smaller tyre in the rear again. I might switch back, have to see how these feel on new concrete. Also swapped my back bone saddle for a nearly identical
My friend built a new jump park in Hunters Hill, finally made it out today. Thing is good fun, and pretty gnarly for a suburban asphalt track.
The problem with talking about this purely from a mechanics perspective is that you negate the human aspect, which I would argue has a greater impact than geometry would. Steepening your HT angle and shortening your fork offset would move your CoM further ... more »
Hoping the SFA holds out until the fabled Dutch barcodes finally happen.
Sealed trailmixes!!!! Rare as hens teeth, but the local shop just happened to have a pair. Bought some bits for the spare bike rebuild also, you should see that soon enough
Lux BMX has a decent sale going if you’re antipodean/the postage doesn’t sap the value for you. Saw a first gen eclat coaster for $100AUD
My little brother had a really bad head/brain injury when I was 8. His injury and recovery was not dissimilar to Scotty’s, so I have some close experience to the impact of head injuries. I’ve worn helmets ever since, except for a brief period in 2008 ... more »
Hey dude, It used to be available for digital download via a service called Gumroad. I just checked the link and it doesn't look like it's there anymore. I also had a look around some Australian BMX websites and none of them have stock. It might be worth ... more »
Been doing a teaching placement, working in between and trying to hang out with my wife and kid so riding time has shrunk lately. Here's a few from recently.
Hell yeah dude, they’re such a cool feeling. Wait til you start to fold them out of bigger quarters. Feels like you’re floating
Oh sweet, I definitely will! Ended up with a Kink Backwoods, practically new! Ah man those things are sick!
Damn Vagabond, thats a bummer. Hopefully it sorts itself out soon! Man I really wanna ride that place CAL. Definitely gonna have to make it out there one day soon. Made it out to big blue for a lap with Mick and George today. Sun was in a prick of a
Yeah man it’s the second one unfortunately! Carpet is an easy way to keep public jumps running and lessens the wear from squishy bikes. That, and the soil sucks at all Sydney’s public spots
Made it out for the first time in a couple weeks last night. Between rain, new baby and having to commute again it just hasn’t been happening! Haven’t ridden this place in months so it was a fun little flop for half an hour before the lights went out.
Bare Creek could be good, but it needs someone employed to maintain it. Might leave it a few weeks before going to the other jumps after all this rain, too. That sandy soil will just end up in the flat bottom. There’s a jump park being built in Gladesville, ... more »
That actually looks like a good bit of fun. I don’t mind Sydenham, and with that extra bit of shape it’d be really fun I reckon.
Sure, but I’m referring to different radii. It’s not uncommon for pool coping bowls to have a lot more vert and less transition over all than a more traditional skatepark bowl and that would need to be ridden differently
