I also hate loud hubs, super annoying. Plus, loud doesn't mean better, that is just a misconception. People used to say the same thing about freewheels. If you want noise, just put a card in your spokes.

Being able to pump rollers should be a good start. The concept of pumping is pretty much the same, no matter what you are doing it on. You just want to pump the bottom of the lander, as if going over a roller.
