Wouldn't be practical. There would be the whole compatibility issue as you'd have to run a certain stem and fork combo, and I doubt the stem would come in every option under the sun (same with the fork). I also feel like it would be prone to stripping. ... more »

I have a real nice parktool truing stand, and as nice as it is to have it, you could easily get away with just eyeing it and zip ties. It's real nice for being precise, but a little overkill for only being used a couple times a month.

It's all personal preference, ive enjoyed running both but I tend to stick with topload since I run short bars. If I'm running tall(er) bars I'll run a front load.

I don't got pictures, but mine used to be about yours and a half (for crankarm). For tires it always has worked out fine for me, spacing wise.
