Added reply in a thread Cult 16" vs Sunday 16" 2/24/2014 5:51 PM

Thanks for the input everyone. The guy at my local store showed me vids of little guys doing tricks on Sunday's. The Cult"s bars are a little taller, it seemed a little bigger overall. At his weight (44 lbs) I don't think that the Frame strength is as ... more »

The guy at my local shop was pushing the Sunday pretty hard. It just happened to be in stock while the Cult was not. Both are ugly colors. Which would you pick?

The Sunday is steel w/cromo drop outs and semi -sealed rear hub. The ... more »

A guy at one of my local stores said that he's had a lot of problems with Cult's BB. They're an authorized dealer so he's probably not trying to steer me away from the brand just so he can make a sale. Anyone agree that the Cult BB's have a lot of problems? ... more »

I have a son about the same age with the same bike. If he is reaching too far forward get him a zero offset stem. That will bring the bars back towards him so he isn't reaching as much.

TheBrandonFranke: I see what you're saying. He'll probably ride it for at least 3.5 more years. As get gets bigger frame strength will take precedence over weight.

I agree with you about the weight. It does make a big difference. He can throw his 16" aluminum frame bike around well now. I'm just being cheap.

Thanks bmxfromma. I've been into BMX my whole life and still ride today. I agree about the material and bearings. I think it's hard to beat the United for the price. I could always use that $100 to trick it out later down the road. I got my boys Racing ... more »

Yeah, Fit makes an 18". http://www.danscomp.com/products-BIKES/102345/2014_Fit_18_Bike.html

It has a chromoly front triangle, a sealed front hub and, It weighs 22.5 lbs. Which is only 0.5 lbs less than the United. It's good but is it worth over $100 more?

Added reply in a thread how to put on your grips? 8/8/2013 6:41 PM

Not compared to other locking grips. They're actually one of the least expensive. They're about 50% more than non locking grips but so much less hassle than using hairspray, spray paint, zip ties, etc... https://www.jrbicycles.com/storefront/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=313
