Amazing as it may seem, running a (bike) shop or a distributor does cost money. (Bike) shops pay rent and taxes and employ staff so that when someone comes in and says "hey can you help me choose a bike" or "my wheel wont turn" or "do you know where ... more »

Sorry to hear of the problems. Can you answer a few questions to see if I can work out the cause please? I'm a bit confused as to what has happened here. The groove in the outside of the hub shell is very strange as it looks like the hub has been turning ... more »

It's always hard to diagnose a problem from a description or photos/videos, you really need the hub in your hands. If you have a good local shop that you bought the hub from then obviously taking it in to them to look at is a good option. Otherwise please ... more »

All the advice in here is pretty good but just to reiterate... Unfortunately some of the first batch of hubs seem to have been a bit low on grease, we never had this on any of the prototypes and the factory have strict instructions now on putting more

Unfortunately not directly, but there will often be clues. Eye-ball the frame, is the back-wheel aligned with the seat-tube, is the seat-tube aligned with the headtube, is the back wheel aligned with the top-tube? If everything is pointing off in different

It is hard to see where the price differences come from. As already mentioned, the cheapest (best value seeming) bikes are typically made in China rather than Taiwan. This in itself doesn't have to mean that they are worse (most high end carbon road

How are you reading that thread as "multiple people" having issues with wobble and engagement? Its two people with a "very slight wobble" and one with a cracked adjuster (which seems bizarre but is an easy fix). We have sold out the first batch of the

Have a feel inside the clutch and see if the ball springs have worn a groove. Usually when a FC hub wont enagage its because the resistance mechanism isnt offering enough resistance...

I have always used very basic automotive grease Castrol LM I think is an example. Main thing is to have some.

Added reply in a thread Odyssey Clutch click /sticky 9/2/2015 4:08 PM

The above responses are pretty spot on. With any hub using this kind of engagement there is always a little bedding in period. We do have an extra machining step to try to reduce this but it can still be noticable for the first few rides. One thing you ... more »

Are you sure it's thorns and not pinch flats? Do you pick the thorns/glass/nail out of the tyre before you fix it each time?

What really matters is HOW the tube and the frame is made. All the chromoly BMX frames/bikes on the market use a chromoly that is close to 4130 standards, but the Japanese grade that most Taiwan frames will be based on is actually more tightly controlled

We have. It's what FBM specified when they first created the Mid BB. 73.5 This works with a 51.4 spacer tube and that's the size that should come with any good Mid BB kit. Unfortunately not all brands stick to it. Spanish obviously hung around like a

Added reply in a thread To bother with BB spacer 8/8/2015 4:49 AM

Yes. Always use the spacer. (If the correct length) It provides a solid connection from one crank arm to the other through the bearing races, which means the bearings can share side loads (so they last longer) and it stops the bearing inner races slowly

There is a lot of length of thread engaging and the grub screw only has to apply enough force to move a couple of grams of plastic, it should be very safe. If you ever strip the thread I am sure we would be happy to warranty it for you.

It would have been nice to go 14 both sides, but we really needed to minimise the potential areas for problems with this hub. The G-Coaster has taught me that when you try to change too much too fast the project gets bogged down and never makes it out
