Added reply in a thread Why the hate on gloves? 2/25/2019 3:49 AM

True, pads suck. Gloves and a helmet are whatever, but for me, honestly I can't ride at all if I have a jacket or especially a backpack on, even if they're both really lightweight. Idk what it is about it. The mere presence of either severely hinders ... more »

Text me. I'll pm you my number because I don't want to post it on here. I don't know how/if the pm's work on here though, so it may go to your email instead. And Sponge, yeah, this one has a lower bb as well

I wasn't technically riding on the road last time either. I'll be sure to let everyone know whether "manufactured without brake mounts" is a solid legal defense or not

25-10 atm. Not by choice though. The wheels came on a different bike I picked up recently, and the bike was geared 28-10. Sold the sprocket and the better one I acquired more recently was 25t, and the cranks that came with it are 24mm. I also have 165mm ... more »

Yeah, cool kids hate on helmets too until they smash their dome. I'd wear gloves if I had some (same with a helmet tbh). Your hands are usually what takes most of the initial impact if you fall forward, so why not protect them if given the option?

My frame doesn't even have brake mounts. I've already been stopped by the cops and recieved a ticket for no brakes some years ago, so I'm expecting to be stopped and harassed again. Wtf do I tell the cop this time though?

Added reply in a thread Thoughts on Stranger's new frame headtubes/fork steerer tubes? 2/24/2019 1:14 PM

Gotcha. That's surprising then. I had just about every 90's model GT in the early 00's and never had problems with them, including a Robinson and an Elf at one point as well. I raced and rode mostly dirt outside of that, and I definitely wasn't a smooth ... more »

I wouldn't mind getting laughed at for riding a Mongoose team rider's frame if I was able to acquire one. Ignorant people would talk shit thinking it's a garbage walgoose, not knowing it's actually Mike Laird that makes their frames. That would shut

Do you happen to know what model year those GT's were? If post 2001(after they sold out), it doesn't surprise me. Their US made pre 2001 stuff was good though. But yeah that is true though. Casing a jump to where the lip lands right in the middle where ... more »

Lol gotta hit up Trey Jones. Watch the episode from a couple months ago on Scotty Cranmer's YT channel where they checked out Trey's bmx room at his house. He has multiples of almost every movie ever released

Yeah I know. I was just throwing it out there about Odyssey, as alot of street riders used to run the Race specific version of them around the early-mid 2000's. It was pretty much the lightest strong fork available during the mid school time for those

I'm gonna laugh if the scooter industry eventually ends up at the point where they're back to those old school 80's/90's scooters that were basically bmx bikes. Steel frame, big bmx bars, 12" wheels with dirt tires, etc. These damn scooter kids best

Added reply in a thread Race fork 2/23/2019 3:17 PM

I don't see why not. It looks like a pretty decent fork on paper anyways. Full butted 4130, just a couple ounces lighter than others as it's a race specific fork. Probably be a long shot finding someone on here who actually has experience using or snapping ... more »

Added reply in a thread When should I replace my Odyssey forks? How old is too old 2/23/2019 2:53 PM

Odyssey Dirt Classics are pretty much the strongest forks available, imo anyways. I'd say if you're going to trust any fork to survive drops like that, you already have the best option. They're heavy af because they're built to take massive hits riding ... more »

Edit: For the OP, the Odyssey is the best one. I don't know much about the other 3, but know they're all good choices as well. If I were to pick based on looks alone, I'd probably go with the Federal. But that's only because I like the look ... more »

Some of us never technically left, just lurked without logging in for year or two at a time. Maybe get on briefly during those periods to start a conversation about industry news or ask/answer a question, but that's about it when you take long breaks
