Added reply in a thread 26" or 29" ..goofy? 4/8/2019 7:03 PM

In response to your 1st post, why not just buy an old MTB and convert it to single speed compared to throwing MTB parts at a BMX? Anyhow, I have a 20", 24" and 26" MTB... Normally, the 24" is the one that gets thrown in the truck and taken for river ... more »

What an idiot... He lists the bike for $75 bucks then says he'll trade for four twenty...duh, that's $80 dollars!!! On a serious note, I didn't see a phone number to contact so I'm going to go out on a limb he "already has several buyers lined up, cash ... more »

Unless you plan on racing I wouldn't recommend the Haro Group 1 with alum frame. The Downtown 24" would be a better option in my mind. If those are your intentions then I think either the Sunday or Downtown would last a long time for you.

Off and on, 30 years but let's say 15 with breaks in between.

For that price, I might! Always preferred the Sport over the Master (was a huge Ron Wilkerson fanboy).

Explain that Amazon sells Mongoose or that you've quoted someone from 2011?

Added reply in a thread "For the Scooter Kids" 10/23/2018 1:48 PM

Mongoose makes one with 12" tires I believe. Otherwise you'd need to search for the old mid 80s scooters that survived the tests of time.

Stolen Saint XLT is my whip after a LOOONG research before buying a 24". Have not had any buyers remorse either. Admittedly, I'll strayed from a 26" size due to already having a MTB in that size.

Added reply in a thread UHMW peg sleeves. Why haven’t they caught on? 9/30/2018 1:43 PM

I've always found UHMW to be pretty soft, at least the material used in the food industry. Once it begins to wear it seems to go quickly. Delrin seemed like a better "wearing surface" but it can become brittle and chunk with impacts.

I'll have to pull it apart & see. Might've just been a really old stock tube as I don't think Dicks has a high turnover rate at that store, let alone on bike parts.

Added reply in a thread 20 X 1.75-2.25 tube in 2.3 tire? 9/22/2018 1:56 PM

^ Yeah, I inflated enough to expand the tube and un twist and then stuffed the tire onto the rim then inflated.
