30-9 is fairly tough gearing but since you're riding trails and parks you probably don't do a ton of pedaling anyway. Just drop in and go. At least that's how I see it.

I just like the look of a 30-33t sprocket.

Probably not by much in Detroit. People are still moving out of the city in droves so the the inventory of vacant houses is high and continues to grow. The south is booming now. Low taxes, low cost of living(for now), growing economy, warmer weather.....shit's ... more »

No worries. No doubt there would be someone around here who wasn't even riding in 2015 that would take what you said and run with it. Didn't mean to come off as mean, just laying out the facts.

Wasn't Chase's choice. Odyssey shit canned him and Sean Sexton at the same time. Blame them for fucking up your tire game.

I've been running BFs front and back for the last 4 years. I'm probably on my 3rd set by now. They're great. They roll smooth on concrete and I've never had a problem at the trails either. If you're on well groomed trails you shouldn't have any problems. Not sure about loose dirt or ruts. The the 2.35's aren't super big though, so if you really want a huge tire in the front you may want to try something else. With 30-9 gearing all I did was add a half link into the chain and it's exactly at 14. It may actually be a tad shorter but close enough. There's still room for it to move back some more too. My peg doesn't hangout of the back of the dropout.......it's close though. I've never had issues with my wheel shifting but then again I'm not landing super hard into grinds. Just doing stalls on quarters/suboxes and peg chings on coping.

Added reply in a thread At what point do you decide to get a new frame? 11/27/2021 9:12 AM

I've been on my current frame for 6 years now. I'm waiting for the new Dutch produced Barcodes or I'm getting a custom frame from Jon Corts or Standard. .....either way I'm gonna be waiting a while.

Added reply in a thread How will a trails specific frame ride? 11/25/2021 2:17 PM

I run 3/8s female hubs front and rear with pegs. I'm pretty much just doing peg chings and stalls at skateparks though so I'm not grinding rough, shitty ledges or taking big drops onto rails. Just depends on your riding style.

Added reply in a thread How will a trails specific frame ride? 11/24/2021 7:39 PM

Honestly, you get used to it. Unless you're doing double whips, 720s, and 540 hops regularly you won't even notice your frame feeling longer after a few weeks. Low bottom brackets, longer CS length, and mellower headtubes were the norm 20 years ago so ... more »

You can get a 2.2 for the rear. I know most online shops have the 2.4 but the smaller ones are still out there.

I've ridden Merritt FT1s for the past 4 years on concrete and trails. Zero complaints. I don't ride really loose or bumpy/rutted out trails so if that's what you're looking to get into then like others have said, choose something with raised lugs down

I've had both 7ka and hazards over the years. Pros and cons to both as others have said. While the 7ka's were more dent resistant, they were definitely a little harder to true than the hazards. Just my experience, that harder 7000 series aluminum doesn't ... more »

Definitely. Gotta space things out right and make sure the landings are quite a bit taller than the lips. Steeper landings will help too but are kinda difficult to land tricks on. So you may need to make a decision. Maybe the first 3 can be technical ... more »
