Mongoose have just released the L500 and it looks like the best value for money you are going to be able to get as an entry level rider, alternatively the l100 is also a great deal

I run 4 Rude Tube LT's and they're great. The sleeves are just the regular Rude Tube sleeves and the core itself is the lightweight part of the peg. I've been running them for a year and only just changing the sleeves

Definitely BSD or Madera for me, I run a BSD NASA rim with a madera hub and never had an issue with either
